What price at your most expensive domain name?

one thing you have to consider is that a domain (any domain) is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.

bottomline is estibot, domtastic or any automated system are never going to give a 'perfect valuation' - but lets remember that no human can give perfect valuation either... its all subjective.

If you asked 10 people on acorn before phones was sold I bet you they woul d have all come out with different valuations ranging from 10k to 500k..

so one good thing about half decent auto appraisal tool for a newb domainer is that it may help you realise that phonez _co.uk is worth a lot less that phones_co.uk etc

everything has its place in the food chain...

I did - Phones.co.uk it thinks is worth £20,000 :)

Domain name alone sold for £50k and £175k inside last 9 months.

If the name was listed on here for £20,000 it would be sold before the seller even hit the 'post' button :)

I am not saying the makers of Estibot are fools, but I think anyone who bases buying and selling names on it are.

Hi,

To me, it looks as if automatic name evaluators like the estibot, are only useful for people interested only in the value of a domain in terms of the number of backlinks and sites already with traffic etc.

However, for people looking for the ideal name to give their website or business, it's just not applicable! In such a case, the most important things would be that the domain name is catchy, easy to memorize and can be immediately connected with what their business is all about. And an autoestimator can't do that!
