Hi Guys, I recently put my domains up for sale with Sedo.
They keep asking me to park my domains with them but I have no idea what parking is.
I just about understand hosting, so I think it's a way of temperarily parking my domain with Sedo or something like that.

Could someone please explain parking to me.

I have 2 domains for sale, one without web site, one with blog.

Thanks

Parking is a form of generating revenue whilst you are not using the domain for a website.

You will need to update the nameservers on any domain you want to park with sedo do that it displays a parking page.

Sorry, still don't understand.
How would I make any money from that?

Could you show me an example?

Please see the following link.

How Parking Works-Sedo.co.uk

There are two methods you can use to park your domain names with Sedo: Domain Name Server (DNS) forwarding or URL forwarding.

If you would like to park your domains, the domain name servers for parking are:
NS1.SEDOPARKING.COM
NS2.SEDOPARKING.COM

The above mentioned DNS settings are changed in your registrar account and may take a couple days to take effect. Once you have modified the traffic forwarding settings, ensure that any domains you park with us are listed in your Sedo account. That way, the system will know where to send valuable traffic data and any accrued revenue.

URL forwarding is a way to park your domains with Sedo if you cannot use name server forwarding. You can retain your email account for a given domain by forwarding traffic with a URL. To set this up, you must apply the URL address below via the traffic forwarding settings at your registrar:
http://www.Sedoparking.com/domain.com

With this method of traffic forwarding, you must ensure you tailor the URL address for each domain being parked. "Domain.com" must be replaced by your domain name. For example, the address for "freefonetones.com" would look like "http://Sedoparking.com/freefonetones.com".

Sorry, did I do something wrong, where did that URL come from?
I typed in telecom. co.uk and got that long URL instead!

Sedo`s Domain Parking helps you capture and cash in on your domain`s natural traffic

People type in your domain name in their browser.

They will be directed to your page with a list of relevant advertisements on the page that Sedo provides.

Every time a visitor clicks through to an advertisement you generate click through revenue.

The more traffic you get, the more people click and the more revenue you get.

To see an example of a parked domain visit Freefonetones.com - free fone tones Resources and Information. This website is for sale!.
