dreading the electric bill as someone said theirs was €500 for 2 months.

The electric bill arrived this morning, cost for 2 months useage is €401 (£345) fecking rip off over here, 2 months electric would have cost us £80 in Hastings for the same period of time, using the same domestic appliances and an electric cooker every day.

The only differences are that here we cook on a gas cooker instead of electric and the 3 electric storage radiators which are supposedly on economy electric overnight, this cottage is uninsulated, and even though the walls are about 2.5 feet thick and it has double glazing, it's freezing and quite a damp place without the radiators settings on full boost all night from 11:00pm - 7:00am, bloody expensive for a bit of electric heating

Kev, get back to Britain mate, sounds like hard work over there, I once lived on top of big hill/mountain in south Wales where everyday felt like Sunday and the nearest supermarket was 6 miles away.

You can't beat city living

All you need is 2 x 1 week holidays per year like the Lake District or Scotland.

are you sure they have not tapped it on from the previous owners/tenents...i moved into a rented accommodation and when i rang Npower up to tell them that i had moved in and gave them the readings they tacked £1800 on my bill from the previous tenants  all power companies are taking the p**s usually before they have a price increase they send out estimated bills which are about 60% lower than the previous year so when they increase there prices the metered reading is a whole lot bigger....:-x

We were going to go and see "Thin Lizzy" in concert this evening, but decided not to at the last minute in favour of a quiet night in.

I guess the above sentence encapsulates "getting old" in a rather scary nutshell!

I do hope you sold your tickets or gave them away!

Maybe we should create our own rock band. Forget ACDC its ADHD, acorn domainers hogging domains.
