UK v EU

Is is whether .eu is good for uk or is it how europe is perceived from other continants?

When looking for something in canada do u look at .ca?

To me the answer is simple, watching a TV program last night, where plastinian children were singing english songs brought it home.....

Whatever u reg english everytime...

I think one critical thing people are omitting to factor in is that the European Union is going to plough the equivalent of hundreds of millions of Euros into promoting .eus. All EU institutions will use .eu domain names.

Evian have a 100th of the marketing budget of the European Union and they succeed in flogging millions of gallons of water at a price higher than petrol to Brits who have the cleanest tap water in the world. If you can afford to create ads showing attractive, slim people doing silly things, you can even sell something like water at an astronomical price.

Whether we like the EU or .eus, they're here to stay.

Eu Uk

i MUST SAY i HAVE FOUND THE COMMENTS ON THIS subject very well put and intelligently discussed, personally as an anti europe englishman I agree with those comments but as a businessman and owner of a few eus, its amazing how now Im seeing it from both camps!!! very educational. anyway I do own singlecurrency.eu would it make a good forum website!!! :)

Illegalimmigrant.eu could be quite a popular type in. But then silly me, anyone wishing to find a soft touch country to move to for a free house and handouts would use .co.uk sites? surely

We should invade latvia by buying up all their domains!

Ok no politics i'll get off my soapbox!

business Angle

I have bought a number of .eu for my own business interests.

As I have said elsewhere the value in .eu domains lie in businesses using single generic words (in english...common language) that all member states understand....a word like fashion, foot etc...

I have noticed someone selling buy-to-let.eu.............to me thats just ridiculous at a price of £20k..........who in the member states can relate to it!!

string of words can be misleading....we know that certain phrases are said differently when translated.

Looking on sedo the string of words .eu's seem to look so silly....probably because the Germans translated their phrases into english

Personally I think three character .eu's are highly desirable to businesses, I trade under several..........its funny how my company Landlord Mortgages gets called lml or landlord.....customer says....I have been speaking with landlord or lml

I suppose traffic depends on how search engines prioritise websites that are .eu....maybe a company thats gets a good website live quickly will benefit from early adoption....what do you think?
