Trouble with the PRSS

Status
Not open for further replies.
sneezycheese, why so negative towards Nominet all the time? I've been in business for over 20 years and I can honestly say Nominet is one of the best I have ever had dealings with.

Now I'm not saying they always get things right because we all know there have been problems, namely the random drop problem pre Jan 2006, but accusation after accusation just gets tedious and boring.

Why not expend your energy helping them improve their service for the good of us all rather than speculating and hatching conspiracy theories.

I started this thread to try and speed up a fix that the PRSS is in need of and to see if others are experiencing the same problems as I am, so if you do feel the need to have a go again would you please start your own thread rather than hijack someone else's.

Thanks
Paul

...OK lets get busy - I've worked for the biggest and the best, and I'll tell you now, Nominet fall short of even a 'pass' at these standards.

...I don't care. I have evidence and I have witnesses - End of. Don't you care that they lie? (and I'll put that 'on the record').

...Did that, in fact spent some considerable time putting together a paper to the C.E., so I've actually been quite active in this arena - thank you.

...You thread said - "Trouble with the PRSS" and I expanded on that.

I'll tell you what, some of us (and we don't have to you know) are actually trying to improve things and weed out the corruption and incompetence for the benefit for all, but I’ll tell you for free that if you want to keep your blinkers on and not see the reality, then we’ll just help ourselves and stick two fingers up to the rest of you who thinks the sun shines out of Nominets backside.

I could say more, but I won't, other than to say, well 'best of luck to you all'.

I'll end my involvement on this thread and this forum with one simple question: what do you use the PRSS for?

Thank you and goodbye.

Sneezy.

Either post the evidence here (and back it up legally ;) ) or send it to nominet, as Grandin failed to realise, Acorn is not nominet!

Going to tell us all who they are or if there is any evidence that people in Nominet are corrupt?

Quite a strong claim that, I am looking forward to seeing the backup to the words :)

Kind of proves my point don't you think? you are implying that I am breaking the PRSS T&C's without any knowledge of me or what I do.

The latest release allowed you to search for an exact term, so in this case you could search for "R A Smith".

Doesn't work for me, I still get ' You must specify at least 3 consecutive non-wildcard characters in each word of registrant term'

Please name what you regard as "the biggest and best" and in which fields of endeavour they were active. (I would like something to compare biggest and best by.)

Sneezy... in the words of the immortal Basil Fawlty as he poked Manuel in the eye with his finger... "let me explain".

You have become bitter, twisted, and totally self-absorbed with what you obviously believe in your own mind are the demons within Nominet and its systems. When I met you on the 22nd June (at Nominet) I thought you were a reasonable kind of guy. You have since become more and more illogical in your assumptions and allegations. Whether you accept it or not, Nominet has tried to accommodate your grievances, but here's the problem as far as I see it and this is only my humble opinion though it seems logical Mr Spock.

The balls-up you keep referring to but won't state in black and white (even when requested by your fellow Acorn Domain's subscribers) stems from one simple, unfortunate, and inalienable fact. You yourself mis-managed the DRS and the official complaints procedure at your disposal. So if it's mis-management you are alleging, you need to look to yourself first because you sure as heck mis-managed that lot.

Nominet offers a complaints procedure. If you want to criticise everything and everybody's dog at Nominet you need to do so from a righteous standpoint. In my humble opinion your standpoint is completely flawed in your expectations of the written policies and procedures of Nominet UK. You may find this out if you stop expending hot air long enough to take legal advice and/or legal action. I have already told you to go and do what you have to do, but you just go on and on like Ariston about the same old same old... and for what? You can solve this dilemma of yours by legal advice and/or legal action. Do it mate; you have my good luck and good wishes. Complaints are good things if they are viewed positively and Nominet has always been keen to modify and/or change it's policies and procedures if they think they can be improved.

That's very magnanimous of you sneezy... but I doubt it has much to do with you or "some of us" actually trying to improve things. What it is more likely to do with is the malicious vendetta you have openly acknowledged and continue to wage on this forum. There's no honour in doing anything for the wrong reasons which is why I keep saying you can't be right from a wrong standpoint. So get on with it sneezy, do what you gotta do, and we'll see what we will see.

Regards
James Conaghan

awwww, we all know you are reading this thread - can you post who is corrupt in nominet please? Would hate to think you are just flinging mud :)

JAC can you take your personal attacks elsewhere.

Yes I can.... as long as the same logic applies to sneezycheese and yourself.

Happy to oblige in those cirumstances; which is obviously more than you, or he, seem prepared to do.

Why am I not surprised?

…The things I could say, but I won’t (not in public anyway). ;)

Let me ask you two questions Jay:

1. What (if any) eligibility checks are done before allowing someone access to the PRSS? …or is the only ‘check’ needed the one made out for £400 + VAT from the bank?

2. What (if any) checks are done to check for possible ‘patterns of abuse’ of the PRSS?

I look forward to your response. :)

Sneezy.

What kind of abuses are you thinking of here? Just one example, no names, to enlighten me.

Why, why, why can you only get a small number of results in one go:mad:

You do a query that returns 8,000 results, click yes you want to see them all and it crashes

For those of you interested, it looks like they have fixed it now :)
