The website is a spanish translation service.

Fortunately a good friend of ours is fluent in spanish & french, she used to live in barcelona, so it seemed a good idea to make use of this & try & earn some pennies.

There's apparently 74,000 exacts in the UK per month & 1.2 million globally

Is the site okay, would you change anything, does it render okay in your browser, etc.

Thanks!

PS - the espanol bit isn't working yet, we need to finish a few bits off, & no, that isn't her piccy either :)

All looks fine to me, quite like the layout, not an in your face sort of site or leaves you searching for loads of info, does what it says on the tin.

Thanks.

I tried to keep it simple, I have a terrible habit of overdoing it with the blurb on my websites :)

I like this website, clean, straight to the point and it also looks well optimised. Good job all round.

My only criticism (don't worry, nothing bad) is that the contact button goes to a mail to: address, you should consider that not everyone has an email client nor wants an email client to launch when clicking that button.

Tip, go for a simple and quick contact form with an easy to read captcha, the time taken to create will pay for itself ten fold. You could include mandatory fields to capture valuable information from potential clients before you speak to them.

Buena suerte.

Paul.

I don't know why you have used & (ampersand) in your text as much as you have, it's not really good grammatical style.

The first sentence, "SpanishTranslation.org.uk offers proof read Spanish to English translation & English to Spanish translation from native language speaking professionals." doesn't read well.

Having read some of the other text there are a few errors, normally I'd say this wouldn't matter but for this type of site it does.

"Professional, customer focussed service" - spelling should be focused.

Home page:

"Our translation specialists are experienced business men & women from a broad range of industries including engineering, pharmaceuticals, media, and banking, and our translation rates are among the most competitive in the industry."

Would change to:

"Our translation specialists are experienced business people from a broad range of industries including engineering, pharmaceuticals, media and banking, and our translation rates are among the most competitive in the world."

Hi

I think it's one of the cleanest websites i've seen for a while
I agree easy to find exactly what you need

I would just add, while appreciating it is a uk website, normally when showing small country flags in the corner when clicked I did expect to see the site in Spanish.

With not too many pages to translate and add in spanish, and bearing in mind the theme of the website, I think it would be a really nice touch, at the same time showing off your service.

I like it Dave, very nice clean design

Would agree with above comments about removing & from text and adding a contact page, some of the links are going to mailto:email and others are going to a dead/removed/not created page.

One comment i have would be to get .org.uk in the your logo, i see you have it in your first paragraph however if it was in your main title/logo then users would be able to instantly see what website they were on - imo improving the chances they have of returning.

Just spotted - the "Online Quote" link seems to be incorporating | as well.

IMO you must have a spanish translation of the site. This is living proof you know what your talking about giving customers proof you know your buisness. Both translation of your site must be 100% grammatically correct in both English and Spanish.

Looked at obtaining the .ES domain? Might also be worth getting traduccionespanol if looking to gain spanish search hits. Personally know nothing about this area so worth talking with Spanish friends first.

Thanks Guys,
We will be translating the site and that will show when clicking the spanish flag, we just haven't had the time to do it yet. I wanted to get the English side sorted out first and then do the translation once thats done.

Many thanks for the excellent suggestions, I'll get those done later today.

Cheers,
Dave

Yes sorry

I just re read your original post about the espanyol part not workin yet

Nice looking site, but the poor use of English doesn't do you any favours.

Whose not who's, etc.,

First impression is great. Looks professional, clean and easy to use for anyone who has not navigated the site before. I would however encourage you to make more use out of the white text. "Spanish Translation" which appears under the navbar should be bright white to attract your attention to it as the black below it makes it less visually appealing.
Also your navbar should loose the greyed out words. I would encourage you to make all the words white and on a mouse over it can go to grey. Would spice up the look a bit
