Offline News/Information

I always try and get as much data downloaded to my iphone as possible just before i step on the tube and go underground but there's not many places you can get a long list of news articles.

So i was thinking of some kind of offline news reader which downloads a heap of articles in various categories which you can flick through on your phone. I did build something for it last year some time but only using the BBC rss feeds. They only give snippets though which is not enough. i want to do something similar on Football News.mobi | Football News <-- (currently in iphone format only)

OK, so you are thinking of some form of offline news service whereby I could load in all the feeds, subjects/news sites i'm interested in and this would go off at xx times of the day, download these articles and make them available offline, when I access the Iphone app or logon to theoffline.co.uk website?

seems a workable solution to me, what did you trial last year? anything to view?

Here you go (it's designed (if you can call it design) for the iphone), it probably runs a lot quicker on the 3GS than the 3G!:

If you're wondering whether the domain alone is worth anything then sorry, I don't think it is.

agree on the domain value, also looking around a little now it appears that there are a good few offline news apps for the iphone.

Whatever use you come up with its got to have a very good USP
