Bought this a while back with the intention of developing it. That might still happen, but then again it might not!

Moderate UK exacts (18,100) and reasonable global (450k). Ranks in top 5 for UK searches for texas.

I own another US state .co.uk domain - would the pair carry more value sold together than separately?

Any advice or ideas of value much appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan

Personally I would sell them separately. Can maximise value on each then.

Texas.co.uk is a good domain, but it is perhaps a bit surprising no AdWords ads appear on a Google search.

One issue re site development is that I can see a difficulty generating affiliate revenue as people will go off to travel comparison sites to make their travel purchase. You can get round this by developing a decent site and then taking direct ads yourself.

I would have a look at domainprices.co.uk and dnsaleprice.com to try and find other state domain sales. It might be that city names are more prized than state domains as they are easier to monetise.

Thanks accelerator, much appreciated.

There's plenty of Adwords ads for Texas + [flights|hotels|holidays] but like you say none for the state name alone. It's just not as popular a destination as say Florida, and even that shows relatively few ads most of the time.

Thanks for the Fred Mercaldo link, I'd read some stuff about him before and it did get me enthusiastic about developing it, but time is precious just now.

Nice domain, poker came straight to mind which is likely to be a more lucrative sale than offering it from the travel perspective.

It's not ranking anywhere on the first page of Google UK from what I can see by the way, so you may have personalised search turned on. I don't think that's really a problem though, especially if you go for the gambling angle I mentioned above.

Would recommend selling the other state you have separately.

Thanks wb, never thought of poker, nice idea.

I do have personalised search off - I was looking at Pages from the UK, doh.

And there is always the band, if all else fails. I wouldn't be surprised if a good chunk of that search volume in the UK is looking for the band.

Poker domain for sure. Develop it and see if it can start generating income. Will add more value in the long run. I like the domain mate.

my first thought was also poker but its not specific enough, there a few variations of texas poker e.g. pot limit, no limit etc and the poker market is in my view saturated.

p.s. nl-texas.co.uk is free to reg as is pl-texas.co.uk
