I will be using it for a new UK Street Data site that I am in the process of building.

I quite like it.

Any ideas on value or is it worthless ?

We are going to be offering UK Street data.

Our team of people have collected every UK Street and you will be able to buy our database which is sold in regions.

The datbase can be customised to suit your needs and has been made in many formats.

Technical support will also be provided.

It is a street database with the first 4 digits of the postcode.

So if you were to type in sa21 it will bring up every street in that postcode listed in that area.

It does not go down to the full postcode with every house like the royal mails one.

But bearing in mind the royal mails corporate street database is £75,000 and our corporate database is only £299 it is well worth the money.

We designed the database due to such high demand for basic street data which can be added into any of your websites for customers to use.

Their are many places you can get it all for free if you look.

But you can only view the database to get the info.

We are selling every single street in the whole UK on a cd which can be customised into your website for delivery zones or whatever you need them for.

This is aimed more for lagre businesses that need street info on there website for other uses.

I could add the complete uk street guide on my website so that you could view anywhere you like and what delivery zones I offer ect. The other sires do not let you have their databases for your website unless you buy a corparate license for thousnads of pounds.

The only reason we have created this datbase is this is something we needed for one of our Businesses and since doing some research their is loads of firms interested.

I think it is great value at just £299.

It's not for everyone I know.

It Took about six months of hard work collecting all the street data.

Their were 4 of us working on it during this time.

It is all our own street data and our own designed database so we have every right to sell it.

Due to the time it takes to gather all the information we will only be offering one yearly update.

Its still great value for the price and as I mentioned before we already have lots of interest.

The problem is you are using the postcode to reference the street data - personally I would check to see if you require a license from the Royal Mail.

I don't think this is the case so long as he's not trying to flog a postcode address file (aka PAF) - the Post Office don't like that kind of thing at all

There are quite a few projects about that try to produce an open version of this data, although I doubt a complete version will ever be produced given the regular changes in the postcodes. And there are also the special codes relating to unexpected places like Tristan da Cunha, which will be very hard to cover exhaustively.

Perhaps virtualwords could clarify?
