mr giraffe

Mr Girfaffe seems to own alot of domain names but seems to hold out for silly money.....the buyer probably apporached Mr Giraffe but when he said £500,000 he went for the other cause it was a fraction of the price...lol

At least it shows Angus can spell! I also suspect he does well enough from his occaisional "big ticket" sales and from developing sites - not to mention selling bits of forest from his woodlands.co.uk site. :p

Good stuff

I know Angus is well respected and holds an impressive portfolio and holds out for some impressive prices just isn't in my price range

buy to let a wood

Imagine 'buy to let a wood'....Angus would be loaded

Saying that if we could all 'buy to let a domain name' we would be even more loaded!

Stationary.co.uk is virtually worthless in my book. This has to count as the domain spelling cock-up of all time. I don't buy the argument that thick people don't know whether it's ery or ary so it doesn't matter which one you buy. If a website can't spell it's own product, it's difficult to take them seriously. I would suspect a site called Stationary.co.uk was collecting credit card numbers not selling pens.

If you type in Stationary when in fact you are looking for Stationery then you would not know the right spelling of the words so would be non the wiser, the fact that the domain was a mis-spelling would not concern you.

Looks like it is pointed to Ryman the Stationers via a Tradedoubler affilliate link...................

About 10-4 Stationery vs Stationary

On terms associated with the business.

Agree

I have to agree with Paul but that is not to say I would buy it any way

If you type in Stationary, it brings up some stationery pages. If you click to page 10 of the "Stationary" result the sites trying to capture the misspellings have drifted away and the results comes back as the correct meaning of stationary. If you type in "Mortgagess" you get pages of sites trying to caputure typo traffic. It doesn't mean Mortgagess.co.uk is worth £17,000. Most people who buy office stationery in bulk know how to spell it so sales from the numpties who don't know how to spell it or care how it is spelled will be negligible. You could argue that if you don't know how to spell stationery you don't have much use for a pen or a pad of paper and aren't likely be employed as an Office Manager buying stationery in the first place.

well wrriten

well written...! (pun)

maybe the buyer should hide behind the stationary cupboard in shame....and hope it doesn't move...lol

LOL agreed
you make good points!

On its own not worth the 17k

In conjunction with stationery.co.uk then it is another issue entirely.
