Hi,

Just picked this up and wondered what your thoughts were as to value?

There seems to be a load of Google Ads for the term with 6,600 exacts per month.

Also, as Static Caravans sell for up to £20,000 each there is the potential for rather good returns i rekon.

I have plans for development as there are a number of affiliate programs out there but its always nice to know what others think.

Obviously depends on development costs.
If you can do it yourself, go for it.

I had a client in my development heyday who owned a very large static caravan business and it is big business.

For domain sale only resale the extension may kill it but get the traffic (probably lead gen would work best) then partner with a retailer

It is competitive though and big bucks are spent for that traffic and surprisingly an industry that has really tried to embrace the net or at least from what I have seen (retail prices and profit per sale may have something to do with it )

Having worked in the Static Caravan Industry (online) The issue is that they dont pay for completion but for leads... if you can deliver volume, then would be worth developing a site...

The money is in... PM me and will tell you - hesitant to put it out there

Thanks for the comments so far everyone, they have been rather useful.

Paying per lead is a little annoying as a percentage of sales would be far more lucrative, but I guess that is why it is per lead.

Depends what you want to achieve with it?

Using it to sell caravans is one way but as others have said lead generation is probably the way forward rather than commission on sales.

The second option is to use it for a database of private static caravan owners to let/hire their caravans out. Not sure how hard/easy that would be but people wanting to hire are more likely to search "static caravans" where as if I was buying I would search "buy a static caravan" or " static caravans for sale".

I have decided to go down the affiliate route with caravan holidays and I am working on a section for people to advertise their own caravans for sale.

The problem is the only way I can think of doing this is a classified ads script - preferably a free one to begin with. Does anyone know of any reliable/decent ones? Alternatively, any suggestions as to alternatives that I haven't thought of would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you pop on to Themeforest.net and run a search for "Sofa OpnPress". It isn't expensive, the chap provides good support and it may just do what you need.
