Would like some honest opinions on any improvements I can make to my website at waterfedpole.co.uk.

It looks fine and has a decent amount of content but I hope that content is original ?

Are you relying mainly on Google ads because I don't think they will make you rich on this product.

Get some aff links on there, maybe Screwfix do RO systems ? they are on Affiliate window.

Thanks for your opinion.

The content is all original and I will look for affiliate links for the site but, most of the window cleaning supplies companies (in the UK) don't have affiliate programs. I'm sure though, that the first one of them to follow this route will steal a march on all the other comapnies.

The Adsense income is reasonable for this site, but I won't get rich from it.

sorry do not like it,circa 1980's websites will turn people away in there droves...

also white space is a big no no ,and that background image makes me want to go toilet

use a wordpress/joomla theme that would be my advice

Thanks for taking the time to give your much appreciated opinion.

I do have links to the water fed pole products that are available on eBay.

They are under the Header, but as you've obviously missed them, I'll go ahead and make them much more noticeable, which may increase my revenue from this site.

As for Amazon, I've never really liked Amazon's affiliate scheme, but I should maybe give it a go and see what happens. It won't cost me anything to try.

Nice and clean, not much improvement needed, maybe make it a bit wider as I have an 21inch widescreen monitor, it looks a bit too thin here

not quite sure on the 'look' of this one, do agree its a bit 80's, a decent template could liven the site up.

Also i'd look to merge the google ads in a little more, stands out as advertising to me so wouldn't draw me to click on them, you can play with settings such as the border colour etc.

Thanks for the comments, I'll have a go at making it a bit wider, but not too much so.

I'll also try and mute the background, as it is a little bit "in your face".

Google Number 1 Spot

Many thanks for the opinions and tips, some of which I've either followed or implemented.

The result has been to re-establish this website in the number 1 spot on Google for the search term "water fed pole". This means more visitors and consequently more Adsense revenue when any of them click on the ads.

I'd say it's never a good idea to have an animated background or use comic sans. They both say school project to me.

It averages around £450 a year from Adsense, I also make a smaller amount from eBayPartners on this site, so if I can replicate this on 600 sites with small traffic to do the same...?

Some are already on more than £1000 a year... so?

I don't have to compete with too many people, to get small amounts of adsense on each site of this type.

Also, if it's a developed, and up-to-date website, there's more chance of selling it!

I'll have a look at using Wordpress sites on some, and PremiumPress sites on some others.

First of all "Hello I'm New Here" which sounds really spammy, but it isn't.

Secondly: I really don't like it and it needs to be much simpler with more content and a lot of work to be done on your H1 Tags and Titles.

I personally think after a while with the title just repeated <title>Water Fed Pole - Water Fed Pole</title> It will start to drop the serps results it has now.

The background is a real turn off and I'm guessing your bounce rate is pretty high because of it?

Too many google ads in my opinion, and they will more than likely be ignored in those quantities and in the side bars. In content links to affiliate programs will do better as i can't see there being a good rate for the keywords, although I might be wrong.

I agree totally that small sites in niches like this can do well and when you have them in numbers the cash will add up, just needs some cleaning up, more content and on page seo imo.

At the end of the day people will arrive looking for various types of water fed pole, tell them where to get them at the best price

Some good points Mr biscuit, I personally give up with aff stuff and adsense, I can't get it right for trying.
