Wanted: Domain Appraisal Self Tan?

Had a reasonble sedo offer on one of these. I don't know much about the market - is Self Tanning still going on, more of a summer thing I suppose - any value in these?

I'm no expert, but I'd say it's probably more active when it's not so warm? Easier to get a real tan in the summer. Due to programmes like TOWIE, it's an all year round thing now.

I agree with Aaron on this one I think it's actually more popular now than ever. If the offer for the single domain is above mid xxx I agree with the above trying to push the whole for low x,xxx to the buyer?

Nice set. Without googling the subject I would say these products are more popular now, being the time of year we show more skin. And what with it just being British winter most of us will look like an uncooked cod, in need of a tan aid. I'm sure there's some statistics about somewhere which shows when these products sell the most.

Is it the difference between end users wanting a name or just sticking with brand only marketing ? Look at faketans.com its pendingDelete as the other net org etc are free to reg it might slip through the tasting net for anyone lookng to backorder would think its worth a punt not my thing though?

I sell fake tan all day, every day. It's a huge market that's growing year on year - both for "end users" and professionals/salons.

I used to own a load of fake/spray tan domains that I managed to catch - I decided against using them for my business though, and in the end I managed to sell them to a competitor (a master stroke, if you ask me!).

I decided against using the domains that I had for various reasons - not least the fact we stock lots of different products, not just fake tan. If I had the time to develop an awesome mini site just selling fake tan, I probably would have held on to them - but I didn't. One of my main competitors has a huge website that makes tonnes of sales - they then have about 20 mini sites each specialising in one area of beauty - a fake tan site, a nail art site, etc. This approach works well for them, but it took a rather large time/money investment.

These domains have got to be worth a few quid for someone looking to setup an affiliate site - but if "faketan.co.uk" only sold for $1330, I would snap the hand off any potential buyers than come your way offering £300+.

Agree with the consensus, One of those terms where there's a whole myriad of acceptable descriptives/applicables . once your below the keyterms of 'selftan' - 'faketan' Also one of those areas where the users are willing to spend quite a few quid extra buying a "Premium Brand" from a 'own-label' site to prevent the horrific results of old.

Agree anything offered around £300 a name (when your into three words) should be a sales opportunity that's not going to be extensively beating later as a .co.uk

Don't seem to earn that much £ as an affiliate.
