Hi I have applied to Sedopro two weeks ago, and still getting the same msg :
Your application will be reviewed by a SedoPro account manager, and you will receive a response within 2-3 business days.

Also I still got like 10 domain name awaiting for verification check which might take 2 days.... my has been ages some for weeks and even for months...

I have already moved a few away, I guess I will move them all...

Question is why is it so slow, Sedo should't post within 2-3 business days, if they are not going to keep that promise!

thanks for sorting out the waiting verification list.

hope you can sort out my sedopro wait as well

Many thanks

The verification process for domains is poor at the moment.

I had about 40 domains in the verification queue for 2+ weeks until yesterday. I emailed CS because I wanted to delete some of them as I had sold them during this time. I thought it would reduce the verification workload for them.

The result? I got an email telling me I had already registered many of the domains under another account and they were deleted from my account. As I only have one Sedo account it is obvious these previous registrations were made by previous owners who hadn't updated things since the domain expired. They even gave me the member name who had previously registered the domains and his email address!

So my time was wasted adding the domains to Sedo and now I have several domains pointing at Sedoparking potentially earning money for Sedo and the previous owner. Great stuff..... not.

I've emailed again and been told I will get a reply later but I'm still going to point these domains elsewhere later today because I don't see whay Sedo should get their share of any parking revenue on these names when something so obvious causes such problems.

Overall I like Sedoparking as it is intended to work and I appreciate the problem is often created by people not deleting domains from their account when they expire but is it so difficult to check the Whois info when a name is registered by someone else? To assume people have multiple accounts in different names and are registering the names more than once is ridiculous in my opinion. Would it be better to make listings expire automatically after a year to overcome many of these problems? I hate to think how many current Sedo listings are not actually owned by the Sedo member at the moment.

True I have notice a lot of expired domains on Sedo, do Sedo have any programs or ideas to solve this problem Shaun?

Hi WestHamFan and Takwa,

This has been a problem for us recently, the main cause of which being the sheer weight of numbers being added. We are doing our best to work through this and clear the backlog.

I recommend that you send queries of this nature to this address: [email protected]. This should help you receive a quicker reply.

WestHamFan, could you please PM me your Sedo log-in name? My colleague in CS would like to take a closer look at your case.

Thank you!

Regards,

Shaun

There are a lot of threads curently on here which suggest that Sedo service is currently below par. I thought that setting up of the new UK office might have improved the overall service but in some ways it now seems to be getting worse.

I can understand Sedo's problem as they do have a huge volume of domains being listed there but, while understanding the problem, the experience can be very fustrating in many ways. From Sedo's point of view a degenerating customer experience must be a serious worry.

Personally - on the sales side - I would have thought the Sedo system could be improved for the bread and butter names that don't merit "Top Domain" status. Such names are virtually invisible at the moment unless upgrades are purchased and the pricing if you own a fair number of such domains is prohibitive - particularly for international exposure. I've no doubt there are many domains that would command $100ish sales IF they were ever seen and I can't help thinking an eBay style listing system with eBay type fees would improve things all round for everyone including Sedo revenue.

On the parking side of things I'm a little less certain about possible answers. I get a few bucks a month from parking at Sedo but nothing to get excited about. Not being able to "promote" domains overtly makes it is difficult to get even worthwhile new names visible in search engine results which in turn means traffic is pretty near impossible to build on domains with little or no previous history. I understand the reasons and this isn't meant as a complaint. But I do feel it is a problem Sedo and their customer domainers need to find possible solutions for. I have a reseller hosting account and could go the minisites route I guess but then time becomes my issue and the minimum fees will then apply at Sedo if they find a buyer.....

Best I stop here before I sound too much like a whinger!
