sedo needs a massive overhaul ,what i would do is :

>firstly split the searches better i:e, typo's/low value in there own section far too many kids loading rubbish onto the site hoping to snare someone..it looks good for sedo...oh look we have so many millions listed (no 95% are not worth a packet of crisps) or have a quality control...

>Buy it now should be....well what is stated !! buy it now no going to auction or replying with £10k offers

>replace the current search facility...it is massively inadequate,it is clumsy and extremely hard to navigate...you even have to type the page number in for the next page, and it also asks for the extension and when you type in co.uk and you still have to click the pop-up box when it appears stating co.uk  why ?

>do something about the length of time people take to respond to bids....and more important dont even bother replying....if you do not reply within a set amount of time the domain is removed from sedo's database...simple ,think about it people really would like a domain and they have £1000 in there bank, you bid £1000 on the domain wait the whole seven days and no reply....so you had £1000 tied up for nothing ??? ,if the person keeps failing to respond remove them from the site...not hard is it (the seller would feel obliged to respond) = increase in negotiations..

>people that are VAT regd in the UK are getting a raw deal....it has been mentioned on this forum before so no need to go into this...

>does anybody else have any valid points that they would like implemented...?

Thank you for your feedback. I have passed this onto product management.

Regards to typing in the page number - there is a blue triangle next to the number of pages which you can click for next page.

regarding selecting the extension - if you type in .co.uk and press select the extension box is already ticked you just need to click on apply. You do not have to type in the extension you can just click on select and then tick .co.uk and apply.

Buy it now prices (fixed prices) are just that - the price cannot be countered. Some people have chosen the pricing option of a suggested price and make offer so lower bids can still be received in theory. In some unfortunate cases the seller has used the low price to gain bids and the sellers counter price is much higher than the suggestion. This is clearly a poor sales strategy and if we advise our clients not to do this as it puts people off buying all together.

It also needs some way of checking ownership of a domain, either periodically or at the very least as soon as an offer is made. I have wasted a LOT of time researching domains, before clicking the “buy it now” button, only to receive a message a few days later, explaining that the seller doesn’t own the domain anymore.

Joanna's a real star. Just working for the wrong company.

I don't see why Sedo can't build something into the system to cancel offers or counter offers? After all, in English law offers can be revoked if they have not yet been responded to.

As far as I can see, it has been shown on previously reported 'sales' (e.g. MobilePhones.co.uk) that Sedo have not done anything if a transaction does not complete. If someone has changed their mind about buying/selling a domain you may as well let them revoke it in the standard legal way like they would be able to if they had made their offer through any other platform such as email. I'm not a legal expert, but if offers can't be revoked I can see this being a flaw if your contract is ever tested out in court (i.e. would it be considered 'reasonable' for there to be no revocation allowed?).

The main annoyance for me with the above is when people are too slow at responding to offers. If I'm selling a domain and make a counter offer, it's apparently binding for seven days so I'm not able to agree a sale outside this time even if a nice offer comes in and the person who has received the counter offer is not interested.

Firstly let me start with the little blue triangle....you have to change the page number manually before it goes to that page.....if i put a small triangle on my page and someone clicked on it i would make it so it moved to the following page....remember we have to trawl thorugh thousands of pages...each one....highlight page number....change page number.....click blue triangle....you do that for 600 pages you feel as though you need a shower...:D.....simply click on triangle and it goes to the next page....da dah

Extension.. this is another thing about speed....it asks you to type the extension...so you put .co.uk (not co.uk else it doesnt register) into the space provided...press select....and it asks you...are you really sure you would like co.uk.....you can change your mind if you wish....ok now press apply...why not just type co.uk and click....results....and that script takes a fortnight to load...and i am on a quadcore processor...imagine being on a singlecore celeron it must be like watching paint dry
