SEDO Down ?

Hello All,

Unfortunately the statistics were down this morning, and account access was unavailabe as our Tech team worked to list the correct value.

Statistics should now be correct and will display a value unaffected by changes in the past 24 hours.

Sedo revenue down yesterday by almost 50%. Same the day before. Still none of our pages resolving for Telewest broadband users.

I've noticed that all my domains appear to be inaccessible to me AGAIN. I thought that this had been resolved.

My ISP? It'll be no surprise to you - Blueyonder.

Yep, I'm with Telewest and cannot access sedoparking.com again.

Once again they appear to be actively blocking access to parked pages.

Please anyone with a telewest connection please email their support dept. again and ask them to remove block.

I have spoken to Blueyonder and they of course deny any problems at all. (Just like the other party involved in this - Sedo)!

In my view, the responsibility rests with Sedo. They have far more clout than we do. As individuals we have little chance of making our case with Blueyonder. No, this is buck-passing of the highest order. If Sedo cared about its clients they would have made more effort over this issue when it first came to light several weeks ago. Instead of which, here we are several weeks down the road, still being fed the same old horse droppings. Has anyone here heard even the slightest mention of compensation?

At the end of the day we have two choices here. Put up with the same old rhetoric from Sedo, or let our fingers do the walking. I know which I've chosen to do!

No mention of compensation, what an absolute farce.

The word about this needs to be spread far and wide. Can somebody please copy a link to this thread within a notice about this Telewest/Blueyonder & sedo imbroglio, on the "PPC/Sedo" part of DNForum too please? My DNF account does not allow me to post to that particular sub-forum.

Every "customer" directly affected [those who have names on Sedo and who use Blueyonder], need to 'phone up Blueyonder's customer support 0845 142 0000 / 4422 and ask them to refer you to the "2nd line" of technical support.

Insist that the complaint is formally logged and thence processed.

I'm sure that this will be resolved in the end. If Telewest don't iron it out, then their Tech. people will at least, eventually offer a definitve answer re: tweak that Sedo need to make. The more people that formally complain the better.

This goes back to what Sedo said, earlier in this thread.

Make that call!

Some help required please:

Could somebody on a non-Telewest connection do a ping tell me the IP addresses of a few of the pages not found i.e. "www.searching.me.uk" [or any names that you know are currently listed at Sedo.

Blueyonder tech support have just said to me that it would help them if they had a few such inaccessible IP addresses to work with.

Blueyonder tech. support have just admitted that they too cannot see Sedo pages and so pinged searching.me.uk - Searchengine info. This website is for sale! themselves. They at least agree that there is a serious problem - "I've never seen anything like this before" went the customer service bod's comment. Besides being currently mystified, Blueyonder 2nd line tech. support have promised to resolve this. They have created a job ticket, under the name "routing issue" and have given me a reference number, recommending that I call back in a couple of days to check progress.

I've suggested that they speak to Sedo too.

Reiterating yet again, I can only recommend that more of you [who are Blueyonder/Telewest customers] follow he same complaint process that I have done and try and force their hand, the more pressure the better [tel 0845 142 4422].

I have read earlier in this thread that each [of Sedo and Blueyonder] blames the other and yes, this current job ticket may end up with another inconclusive result, meaning that I've wasted my time. I've got to rattle every bar in the cage though as the thought of having to move hundreds of domains to ND etc., whilst I'm enjoying "a break" over Christmas is awful ...

Can you telnet to the page in question, therefore ruling out a DNS issue?

Have you tried using different resolvers?

I'm not sure about how to do this, I'm not sufficiently technical. But I will read this comment out to Blueyonder tech. support when I speak to them in a couple of days.

Thanks FS.

I had wondered why I couldn't see sedo.
