Hi

You know Sedo needs seller to transfer papers before completion of domain.

Say if the buyer charged back and so transaction is cancelled, but the papers is still with the buyer, isn't this a danger of losing the domain???

Don't know if the online process will fix this, but I am just thinking the buyer can change the whois and claim legal rights of the domain, until you can prove it's yours.

anyway just a thought.

transfer

in process of selling domain, sedo has plenty of knowledge of ''fiddles''
client paying sedo a/c by bank ' SWIFT' is 100% safe once sedo has receved it..
ps..your old domains may have old email address for contact, update to avoid delays.

TBH I think even if sedo got ripped they would still have a duty to pay you, so Sedo would lose out.

Heard a lot of complaints about Sedo but I never heard of anyone being left out of pocket by them, whatever methods they use, it looks safe to me.

All the best
GW

Well look at this, Sedo was charged back so it's cancelled so I still own the domain, Whois still unchanged.

Then they sent me

Please make sure to contact nominet not to proceed with the transfer since the buyer has the documents he might want to proceed without your consent.

Does that means I should contact Nominet? I am sure they will not keep a note to this domain. Probably reads my e-mail and delete, but I will contact them anyway :(

Call Nominet and explain, they should be able to put a note on the domain advising it should not be transferred.

They can put a lock on a domain to stop it being transferred, including via the online system

If you want secure sale then consider the Nominet DRS :)

Someone who is infinatly cleverer than me has spotted that as everything up to the decision is free, the 'mediation' section can be used as a secure escrow style transaction environment :)

I really don't think that you're properly considering the wider stakeholder community when you make that statement. Your ignorance astounds me.

Ha :) I am not sure if anyone has used the loophole , however the loophole ought not exist. I totally agree the wider stakeholders probably would not be too enthralled that their cash pays for such malarky, unless it comes under the cost-recovery aspect of the DRS. That I do not know as Nominet dont give full finance break downs...

There you go columbo...

I see, it's like that is it.

I understand that Nominet sent a photographer to yesterday's PAB meeting in order to put a few photos of the PAB on their website.

The photographer got some great shots but after all due consideration, Nominet have chosen this one:
