I'm sure i've posted this many times before but hey!
What do sedo do for their money?
I've sold a domain on there for a grand sum of £50. Sedo take £35 and I get £15. I transfer the domain and post on their site that the transfer is complete and now want paying. It's at this point it goes quiet. They never seem to monitor their useless process for sales whenver you post a comment.

Added to that somehow 2 domains got transferred to the buyer and he accepted them both. The buyer isn't responding to my emails and nor are sedo. and nominet are telling me I will have to get the domain transferred back by the buyer and i'll be charged!

Can it get any worse! I've left my domains at sedo through laziness but am finally going to move them all!

Picking up on part of your post (and taking it slightly off topic - sorry!), I don't understand why they have this silly situation whereby if you list a domain at a fixed price for £50 you pay £5 commission, but if you leave it as "Make Offer" and accept an offer for £50 they get £35.

Like most people I don't have time to set fixed prices on all of my domains and much prefer to have them as "Make Offer", then when an offer comes in I can think about that specific one and price it accordingly.

The problem is whilst I might be happy to sell a particular domain for say £100, I'm going to push the price higher to compensate for Sedo's commission, the end result is there is a much higher probability that the potential purchaser will just walk away resulting in a lost sale for both myself and Sedo. In fact this has happened a couple of times recently...

Returning to the rest of your post, I always post "Transfer Initiated", "Transfer Complete" etc. and normally end up being paid within 2 working days of the transfer being completed (PayPal) so I can't complain. Even on £x,xxx transactions, Sedo have been very quick at paying.

How long has it been since the transfer was completed?

Its only £15, you are not going to get anyones full attention for £15, or at least not until they have dismantled the stack of bigger sales piling up on their desk.. Ive only ever sold domains for four figures through Sedo and I find this part of their offering to be quick and simple.

What I dont like is them closing the sales thread before the funds have reached my account.

As for their Auction entry team, a whole different story. Trained chimps could do better.

stender please could you email me at [email protected] with the domain name you are having problems with so I can look into this for you.

Regarding pricing your domains I can easily run your domains through the price suggestion tool and you can revise and send the spreadsheet back to me to upload fixed price domains.

regards

Joanna
