Wanted: Domain Appraisal search engine exposure

Hi all,

I'm still new here and have had no threads answered- don't know what i'm doing wrong? . but - a new question - I haven't heard much about the indexing of websites in terms of price. I have a domain name that I registered 3 months ago, that without quotes is 14 and 15 in google.co.uk local and international (with the url and title of the site which is 600 in wordtracker longterm list) - just a name - no content!!
In my mind, surely it would be perfect for development! Sedo have appraissed at £1000.

It is a name that could be construed as adult or general family health. I would openly say what it is, but in another forum I was almost accussed of being a pervert - mostly by female members, but i don't think they realised i am also female. I see a business value in the name. If u want to know what it is, please pm - i can't be bothered with the grief again!

I wouldnt pay too much attention to a Sedo apprasial.

In fact I wouldnt give any apprasial by a so called 'expert' any time of day.

Spend enough time on this board, immerse yourself in all things 'domainy' and you will soon get your own feel for what any domain is worth.

That said, at the end of the day, its only worth what someone will pay and what you will let it go for.

Spill the beans, what is the domain ?

With the forum being inundated with posts recently, you can find that it can take a while for others to catch up...

Re: the 'name'... IMO - Value is really in the eye of the buyer...

On here, names tend to be traded at wholesale/resale value, with the odd exception... Normally your looking at 6 - 36 or more x monthly CTR rev... again, exceptions to the rules always exist...

Thanks for the help. I also felt unsure about the sedo appraissal. But as I'm new to this, I thought it would make a good template for understanding how people view domain names. I do seo and have noticed that keywords in urls in Google currently bring sites up to the top in serps (or at least is one of the factors) and to me that would be the advantage of long domain names that target keyword phrases. Obviously I understand that quality traffic and a good ctr makes for a more profitable domain name. But for someone to invest in a domain name - it makes sense if that name has a chance at good return in serps for a long term future so that the roi remains. What do you think?

if you tell us the domain you should get back some straight to the point answers

I think above you need to think about the domain name in terms of parking or development.

example: weather.co.uk - as a domain might get very little traffic and therefore click throughs whilst it would be perfect as a website = value!!

frmtb4um.fr has no value as a website but might already have traffic from an existing attempt so has value parked as well as sellable traffic

generic names normally have a balance of the above factors and hence their percieved value
