ROR - Private Chatching Service - Possible Interest?

Dear All

I am looking at possibly offering slots on a private basis to any fellow domainers who are interesting in bulk ordering names across the 4 days from July 1st.

The way I see it the first few minutes after 2pm each day, all the best names will be grabbed, but given the large list of names being made available there should be many good / OK names available even after the first hour or so due to relatively low create quota given to most tag holders that signed up.

The idea would be that for a fixed fee of £ 50.00 a catch I would load names that would be requested after first half hour or so, I would perhaps also consider options for a premium of loading names higher up the list.

At this stage looking for expressions of interest - please do so by PM - I will look to firm things by 7th June. Sorry if this is a bit woolly, this is one off event and I am looking to try maximize opportunities for everybody.

Hi John,

That seems a helpful proposal. How 'bulk' is 'bulk'? Would it operate on an exclusive, non-auction basis? Would there be a minimum number of slots in your method if people were going to use your services?

As you say, there's a vast number of domains being released, with all kinds of diverse uses, falling in that 'grey' zone.

Many people here may already have taken their own best measures to try to secure popular generic domain names, but it may be more of a melee when it comes to the less obviously desirable ones.

From what you've said, you sound like you're making a generous, good-hearted offer which I hope works well for you.

Dear All

Anyone still interested in a fixed fee bulk ROR catching service - please contact me before midnight on Saturday 29th June.

Currently have Tier 1 Status (150 Creates a Minute) confirmed by Nominet, have been testing for the past couple of weeks or so on the test bed.

Offer to fellow Acorn members is simple unlike some other offers I have seen!

1. I will load my my own names first - but my own list is not actually that long!
2. I am looking for people interested in booking at least 20 names a day - fixed fee of £ 50.00 a catch if successful , deposit of £5.00 a name booked, subject to it not being booked by someone else or on my own list. Names will be caught in my name and transferred FOC after the account is settled. I will limit this to no more than 5 or 6 people as my headache will get worse if I have too many people to deal with.
3. First come first served, booking slots reserved once the reservation fee paid - this will be fully refunded if not used to pay for catches.
4. No Auction of caught names, No paying for slots that you won't get your money back on or treated as credits on systems that don't catch much in the best of times!
