It did seem a little on the low side but I also think that some generic industry terms like this are never going to sell for big bucks.

It’s clearly a category killer domain but if you were going to compete with the big boys of the industry you would likely need 6-7 figures for a startup and the likelihood is that a brand name would be preferred.

You need at least a million capital I would say. A friend of mine is in recruiting and I was going to go down that avenue once, spoke to him about it and he told me if I don’t have a million capital there’s no point trying. You have to use that money to pay people (workers) before you get paid by their employees (your clients). Either way, recruitment.uk would be amazing. Someone got a bargain.

I know plenty of independent recruiters in the development world that make a tidy living from it, no need for a million quid, there are other ways to build relationships.

I think you're referring to temp worker recruitment, not permanent recruiters.

I work heavily with both sides of recruitment in the UK.

You've got temporary recruitment companies that will provide staff for short/mid term shifts/jobs thats where you need cash flow, although plenty of the clients I work with get paid by the company then pay the staff.

Then you've got recruiters who will source staff for perm roles and take a percentage salary cut as a one off fee once the employee has been in the job for x months, usually between 10/20%.

I wasn't neigh saying you, just pointing out their is other areas of recruitment that don't require huge capital.

It’s an interesting business. Complicated, but interesting. Apparently it’s the future.

The temp recruitment works very well in certain business areas thats for sure.

Yeah, I was temped once for a large soap powder manufacturing company. They used to have people in and out all the time. I can see the benefit. The agency I was with took 20% of my wages though, which was shit. But there was no interview or anything. Straight in, money in the bank. Not bad at 17 with no overheads.

Yeah any sort of high turnover jobs like general office/factory work works great for the temp recruitment.
