Wanted: Website Review Re -design of Homemade Pizza

I did a re-design of homemade pizza last week.

New banner, page layout, different css styles.

I've added a poll on the first page [flash,actionscript, php/mysql]

Also a readers submit page with a form and php/mysql

I'll take the info of favourite pizzas from the poll and concentrate on those recipes.

Why I have added a poll.

The knowledge I've learned from this developing poll can be taken over to my other sites.

With polls on my sites I hope to be able to gather what the visitors are really after and develop those parts of the sites.

It's also nice for the visitor to be asked what they like or want.

Does that make sense?

Here you go:

1. The main body and right hand menu are too large for the width and in IE6 one shows below the other

2. Not sure of the background colour behind the site. I would go darker and make website stand out

3. Too many colours for the text plus different sizes and fonts do not make it easy to read

4. Vote option is good, adds an interactive feel - this is probably the best to make a marketing feature out of. Try using weird and wonderful combinations to add a little depth and spark and create a buzz. Offer competitions for voters.

5. If revenue is from the Pizza Maker I would possibly bring above the fold too, even if by way of competition or standard banner ad

6. I'd probably ignore all the What's New, not very easy to read, not pictures and nothing grabs you. Try using news type listings with photos and dates added to give a little more pizzaz!

Hi

I should have fixed the site not displaying properly in ie6.

I've added a quick banner for the pizza oven at the top of the main column and I've attempted to add a bit of life into the what's new column.

I'll work on it a bit more when I have the time.

Think you might change your background color, It should be darker or somewhat close to red. Another thing is, you can also put pictures of pizza in your poll section.
