Has anyone done any research into how random Nominet's random drop times are at all?

Yes, I've done quite extensive research, nothing over a sustained period of time tho.

Every time I think I'm onto a "pattern", it all goes to hell. Seems the patterns hold for an indeterminate amount time, then something at nom side changes.

I think many other people see these too, which is why some people have a "run of luck".

Yes I have noticed patterns too but as Skinner says they change too frequently to put anything solid in place.
