Well if anyone has keywords like this that don't think they're worth renewing for £6 drop me a PM and I'll give you £7 for them.
OMG that made me chuckle!

Sounds to me as if you're more "clued up" than you think. Very good post. All salient points covered. Comment directly relevant to the OP's domain. Rep added.I think it is a fantastic domain. Short, brandable, radio test, meaningful to the niche you should push it in (ecigs) I would pay into ££££ for it no problem at all.
Although i am not as clued up as most on the .UK situation, surely it is not just going to come in and take over the whole established .co.uk market. I just cant see that happening, do not get me wrong i will definitely be trying for my premium domains .uk but mainly for protection and just in case. I still believe it is that good a domain that you will have a huge early advantage and the fact a charity has the .org.uk that will probably get the .uk to me only strengthens your domain. You will probably get your target audience with type in traffic looking for the charity website and getting your ecigs. I would love to develop this domain.
Good luck!

As someone who is very interested in this domain, I would value it at around £2-£5k but I am obviously waiting for the results of .uk announcement in September or whenever it is. At this moment in time, I wouldn't pay more than £1k for it.
Yeah I just assumed that was a joke too.
Easy to say with hindsight... but why is someone seemingly letting domains go right to expiry before attempting to renew them? What do you gain with that... why not just renew them a month before they expire?
It is a sales technique. People watch x domain expire and then wait out the 92 days, they begin to get excited, perhaps make plans for the domain etc, thinking that by this time tomorrow the chances are they will own it. When that doesn't happen, and faced with disappointment, they often approach the registrant of x domain with a view to buying it.

I would be surprised if that was the case for most people. Surely they would realise 'quit' or a similar one word is going to be chased by every catcher... so the chance of them winning it is minimal at best.
I can't see anyone making any real plans based on the 1 in xxx chance of it. And if they did, then deciding to spend £xxxx rather than the £7 reg fee to buy it anyway.
The risk/reward just doesn't seem there - you're not likely to gain much from trying it... but get hit by a bus and taken to hospital overnight and you're going to lose the domain completely. Why bother risking it?

It does work.
