Wanted: Domain Appraisal PricesCompared.co.uk

A reasonable price comparison name, people will instantly understand what the website does when they see the url in the SERPs. It should have quite a good click through rate if you are good at SEO. Brandability-wise, it could be branded, but it is perhaps a little bit of a mouthful. It is quite a good name, but wouldn't I swap it for my LowPrices.co.uk, but then I happen to believe that's one of the best names possible for a price comparison service (I might be biased).

It’s the sort of name you think should be worth keeping but not sure if they are... The development time/costs often out ways any type of return... There are some strong players in that market,,, Not sure if they bother with similar name, long tail etc type ones. If someones prepared to make that sort of investment then you’d think they would pay xxxx, think finding someone could be very very hard though…. If you've had no interest since you've have had it and no real visit numbers might point more towards xx...

I see this as poorer version of compareprices.co.uk and to be honest it doesn't seem to go well, I do reckon though that it makes a good enough name for a comparison site.

I guess it's the equivalent to having a shop on High close instead of High street.

Value at end user £500, I don't see a reseller buying it though.

Good luck 8)

Thanks for the comments guys. Just noticed I have the singular - pricecompared.co.uk but I don't think either is too hot anyway.

Accelerator, your name is great, but for me PricesCompared.co.uk is better. It says whats in the tin right off, whereas lowprices.co.uk sounds good, but low prices for what? Fish? Flux capacitors? Linolium?

Both are brandable though and, in my opinion, both are good names.

Low prices for what? Everything! If you Google low prices, you'll find my site first, then Amazon UK second, and you'll note they use Low Prices in their title tag (and a lot of their AdWords ads).

Are you able to give an appraisal without comparing it to a domain/website that you own?

Yes, and I must have done that hundreds of times, but I think the mention here is entirely appropriate. Personally, I am always interested to hear what other domains people own, aren't you?
