Anyone seen the new Google format ? looks like it has been rolled out live today across the UK.

It now displays the search results as

Title
Domain Name
Meta Description

as opposed to the original format of

Title
Meta Description
Domain Name

Anyone want to predict the effect this will have on domains :)

noticed something weird going on in the sidebar ads too;
- Sticky top map overriding ads if you scroll down
- 2nd ad category 1/2 way down on sidebar

I'm not seeing that Frank. saw the screenshot you attached which is great if they do this
however google is still as before for me

I see it. Anything that gives the domain more prominence has to be a good thing :).

Mine are still displaying the old way. I have got the black bar at the top though, which according to TechCrunch is to become the next big thing in social networking, anyone else read the article (I'm sure most of you are many months ahead of me on internet news subjects)?

Google do loads of tests, hundreds a year with their UI and few make it to "production". Having said that, this might speed up the clicks people make on common searches (such as folk who always search, even for things like facebook, bbc etc) - Google is very interested in speeding up the user experience.

Time will tell if it makes it.

I'm seeing the change when I use Firefox, but not on IE ... (IE9) ?

While the format is different, results are exactly the same, including title/description etc ...

Strange not seeing the change myself logged in or out in Firefox for me!

Be good to see if the results of visitors change because of this, if it stays put!

Checking stats, things seem the same so far.

I do prefer the new version I think, as it lets people see the domain name more clearly. My thinking is that the more "savy" surfer may add more value to a more focused targeted domain ...

we shall see!
