I was actually talking about the 'views' being less than the 'votes'. You can't vote without viewing ;)

But answered above by Rob_F, which I now realise I did know, but had completely forgotten..!

Oh yeah and so you was,

I didn't noticed, I guess I'm simples

I dont know about you lot but I want the paper transfer forms back :D

Was great buying an expensive domain name from someone you thought was a 60 year old business mogul only to have a passport picture attached of a 14 year old lad :)

Then it was just a case of sticking loads of 20p's to a bit of cardboard for the transfer fee and posting it all off to Nominet. A month later and you have your domain name

I'm sure I'm not the only one here who still has a shed load of old paper forms.

I remember the days when the postman would regularly struggle up to the door with a sack full of Registration Certificates. Proper quality they were too, no expense spared. :)

The buyer, if it's sales here on Acorn (i.e. at a discount). I pay the fee if it's an end-user sale to somebody walking in "off the street" onto my sales site and buying at or near list price. Too much hassle to mess them around for 10 quid on top of a 4-fig transaction!

Agree with that.

Does anyone know what happens if you pay the transfer fee and the buyer doesn't complete the transfer in time. If you re-initiate it does the system recongnise that you've already paid or charge you again?

Nominet refund you when the transfer expires and then you pay again when you restart it.

I don't understand that one Grant

Surely, if you've paid the tranfer fee, then you must have received the initial transfer email from the seller, and once you've paid and accepted the transfer at your end, the domain/s are in your name/TAG.

I meant from a selling point of view, if I pay the transfer fee on behalf of the buyer then it has to be paid before the transfer is initiated. Was wondering what happened if the buyer then didn't complete the transfer and it needed to be re-initiated.

Just realised I get buyer/seller mixed up in my other post, now fixed :)

Hmmm... a fairly convincing majority.

I think we can be reasonably confident about how 'most people' perceive the accepted (even if unwritten) procedure for who pays transfer fees.

thanks for the suvey

However, transparency in a sales offer/transaction can only be a postitive thing. I know many ADers state the nominet fees in their thread so good on you if you do, shame on you if you don't :p
