The atmosphere on this forum is very negative and unwelcoming to newcomers. I posted the same content on other forums where everyone expressed differing opinions in a friendly manner. However, some individuals on this forum have been very unfriendly.

Hence there is a big problem on forums.

The dislike button is not useful in any way, on my site I have "like" and nothing else. If someone dislikes a post they can say it with content and state a reason why. Better yet give an opposing point of view.

The dislike button causes member conflict, very similar to the feedback score. You can have an established member who gets poor feedback for any reason. Instead of continuing to look at it every day they decide to quit.

So on dn.ca we only focus on the positive, if there is poor feedback a member can open a topic to discuss and it gets settled. It does not follow the other member around for a lifetime on the forum.

All that said, there is a reason youtube took away the dislike button, it creates more problems than it solves. A community needs to be a positive experience and guiding the members to that is worth more than engaging in dislikes or leaving poor feedback.

Acorn is a great forum, don't let a few dislikes sour your experience here.

Helmut (the owner) is a great fair guy and I'm sure if you give it a chance things will come around.

:( Hi, I am sorry about your experience. .. sadly we also (the same as all the other online forums and social networks) have an occasional user who acts like this :/

Have a great weekend!

Hi @789.xyz,

I completely understand your frustration. I noticed your thread earlier and appreciated it; it provides a refreshing contrast to the usual domain listings. This forum is meant for discussions like yours. Unfortunately, some individuals choose to express their personal issues publicly.

I've removed the dislikes from your post. Would you consider staying?

Thank you,
Felix

This is wise. Large companies have long recognized and addressed this issue. If @Helmuts approves, I will gladly remove all negative reactions.

For me, it was amusing to collect all those dislikes and think, "Who do you think is posting your domains on Twitter, and what chance do you think you have that I'll do it again?" :)

However, I understand that it can be frustrating for other members.

Thank you for your advice, @MapleDots. I hope Helmuts will consider it to make the forum a more friendly place.

Nice :) .. "Likes" do sound better than more complex "Reaction Score".

Frank, thank you for another cool idea!

Thank you for reporting this. This report was very important.

You may have noticed that this was the last drop that tipped over the topic and we have removed negative emoji icons: https://www.acorndomains.co.uk/thre...ding-even-more-positive-acorn-domains.180891/

Apologies for this incident. I understand you 10000% > me myself, I did stumble upon this issue at NamePros and hate posting there for this sole reaon only..
