Hi,

safeloans.co.uk has recently sold at Sedo for £1000. I have safe-loans.co.uk.
With the hyphen, google returns alot more results.
Interested in your appraisals and thoughts.
Thanks in advance

Hello,

The only reason safe-loans is getting more results on Google is that its picking up sites with "safe loans" and "safeloans" in them, its irrelevant to the actual value of the domain name.

2 quite good words but the hyphen does bring down the value, I would say low £xxx at the most really, but I dont really know much about loan sites. If safe loans is sought after key words then maybe mid £xxx if your lucky

I’d check out who bought it…. are they a company, individual etc etc, Do they buy lots of domains, check domains registered to them, Any sales patterns ? if it’s a company check what they do, new products, core products etc if they a big a call to there product development teams they normally tell you all there lines and future ones if they think you’re a cough :D buyer .

Are they part of a large group? if possible the number of bids, the losing bidders may be interested in yours, or wait and see what they do with it if your lazy ?

The – can mean its worth less but that really depends on who owns the more generic there are plenty just sat on probably only be sold every five to ten years so if a company cannot get it they will pay for what ever is on the market my rule of thumb for just sales, rather than sit and wait would be start at ¾ of the price

If someone has paid that kind of money for the non-hyphenated version, they may want the hyphenated version too, pushing up its value a bit. I would say any sale over £250 would be a good sale.
