Why don't all the naysayers ask me for a free sample?

Because at the moment everybody still has good drop lists, that they copied from deleting before they went off-line.

Come back at the end of July.

It will get more interesting in about a month, when the deleting's information starts to get out of date.

The problem is creating a list of all registered domains. This takes a lot of work, but it's then a simple matter to scan them with DAC and then WHOIS.
Don't worry Colin. All bases covered. Plus others you haven't mentioned.

everybody? i've personally never used deleting primarily for droplists :)
Exactly Jonno. I've NEVER EVER copied a deleting.co.uk list. Looks like there will be a few red faces in July then, judging from some of the comments above.

absolutely.

i had a feeling people used to make programs to rip deletings content by incrementing pages and simple regexes - i made one at one time to compare mine with deletings and it appears they got many of theirs from the same source as we did.

i personally think dale doing a subscription service is perfectly above board. if you can't be arsed to build your own then why should someone give it away free of charge? theres now a gap in the market so why not fill it?

as usual most people on this forum expect everything for nowt

I've stood by and read this thread for a while now, and I have to say I feel compelled to comment.

I have signed up to aZooZa's list service and I recommend the naysayers do the same.

no, i'm not on sales commision, but I recognise an opportunity when i see one - why can't you guys see an opportunity in the demise of deleting, instead of simply throwing rotten tomatoes - IMO information is power, and it comes at a price. Now this info is not in the free public domain, it should increase the opportunities of those that sign up to it.

I've been out of the .co.uk space for a while now, and have been playing in other name spaces, and each time I have had to pay for information, either in paying for a script to be developed or paying for the results of a script being run - i really can't understand what everyone's problem is with what this guy is doing?

let me understand...

so, there was a free service at deleting - well that was that nice, you don't often get free these days

and now it's a paying service - wtf is wrong with that, I don't see a registered charity number on aZooZa's website

When i reg some stuff off these lists (and it's not just what dropped, it's also what's scheduled to drop for the coming week) - I will post, just so you can see what I am talking about.

and what is my motivation? why would I have an interest in others signing up to this? simple really, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want hundreds of signups as it becomes too competitive again, but i also realise that with very few signups this simply won't be worth doing, and this service will also disappear, so i do have a vested interest in it continuing.

Why do you think? Your attitude stinks.
No, the unpleasant smell you're experiencing is the result of some absurd assumption that I should provide a serious resource that takes my time to provide, for free. Welcome to the world of business.

Free market economics (and maybe nominet) will decide which or who' if any service servives..

While you have a public "discussion" I only hope you do not damage your reputations...

I think that what some here don't like, is people jumping in to profiteer from others misfortune.
Deleting was closed because somebody reported them. (Wouldn't we just love to know who.)

Please don't worry about me, I have very good lists, going back many years.

Thanks for the new info. Yes, your lists are fine. I can see some of the results at your site under "New Domains".
