The current lag on the automaton certainly seems to have temporarily removed any advantage the top catchers had.

None of the 3 LLL.co.uk names dropped yesterday went to the usual suspects.

Yep, looks like dropcatching is currently similar to what it was 2 years ago (minus that 300 second bug thingy).

Good, but does anyone find it odd, Nominet are doing things with their system and have taken the load off by erasing deleting.

I expect that some people are happy that when they wrote new scripts, they still keep the older ones running.

Indeed, time to crank up the old speculator:

So the timing of the complaint was not entirely coincidental? How could that be engineered? Seems a bit 'low'.

I was looking at denic and the registrar application process over in germany. Incorporated entities only and deeper pockets for fees. I wonder how long it will be before Nominet starts to jettison some of the 3000? Barriers to entry and all that.

I don't understand why government and business are going back to what men died for fighting Germans, I don't get it, it's supposed to be a free and open market and businesses like Nominet allowing for good competition so why is government pressing for nazi style street questioning and nominet only wishing to see the elite compete, it amazes me.

And none of them at Nominet have the front to swallow their comments about their database being ripped, not even the technical director, one field used, hardly deserved being shut down and not sticking to the the terms of a suspension/termination and finding a solution within the 14 days. Disgraceful.

Anyway, said enough, nothing I can do, up to those who can now and own the situation.

You would love Kierens book haha

It's quite funny, because I can't see the lists of dropping names, I don't even know what everyone's congratulating each other on! Nothing major on my mini-list, that's for sure...
