Hi there

I have a number of domains that take the form [placename].uk.com and am wondering if it's still worth continuing to renew them.

Can anyone give a ball park figure on these kinds of domains? I appreciate it's going to vary wildly from place to place but let's suppose

1) a-touristy-county.uk.com
2) a-touristy-town.uk.com
3) a-once-very-touristy-town-but-kind-of-past-its-heydey.uk.com ;)
4) a-touristy-village.uk.com

Can anyone give me a very rough price guide for each of scenarios 1. to 4. ...?

Thanks.

Oh, and my other question... where's the best place to keep a bank of these parked inexpensively...

It seems too vague, could you give us the rough exacts on the names?

No is the simple answer. Let them drop.

Some .uk.com can be nice for ppc campaigns or other direct response activity but for anything else get rid.

I have a few top generic versions I keep.

Have you seen any related placename.uk.com sales? Domainers don't tend to like this extension, so I'd be surprised if there was a strong secondary market.

Rgds

Here are some examples of the kind of things I have in mind (not what I actually have):

1) devon.uk.com / gloucestershire.uk.com
2) harrogate.uk.com / newquay.uk.com
3) skegness.uk.com / greatyarmouth.uk.com (actually, I don't really know these two places but I guess they are past their 'prime')
4) actually, come to think of it... I think mine all fit into the first three categories (mostly categories 1. and 2.)

Depends have you had them long are they developed, making any revenue, the other extensions are they reggd and developed if the answer is no too all I‘d think of dropping them ...?

I have a mixture. It probably helps if I give real examples.

Some are developed (eg. http://www.ambleside.uk.com and http://www.coniston.uk.com ) but get negligible traffic (though probably just about enough to cover costs so I'm inclined to keep them).

I have http://www.cumbria.uk.com just pointing to one of our other sites. Perhaps debatable if this pays for itself but I can't help thinking it's not that bad a domain for what it costs. There's also ones like http://www.cheshire.uk.com and http;//www.lancashire.uk.com

Others are just sitting dormant.

.uk.com domains very rarely sell, the only real value would be in any sites you have running on them.
