I thought they were. When I need a top up its on-line or a code of a thermal printed receipt. That's my experience in the NZ market. Nice sale.

i could be wrong but cant you buy cards that allow you to make cheaper international calls or something?

in which case the buyer probably sells these (rather than the old Bt phone cards?)

or did i dream that, i am sure loads of shops in london sell them....

Phone Cards (physical phone cards) will never be redundant, plenty of people .. millions probably .. use them daily, just take a look inside a convenience store anywhere in the World .. people use them for cheap long distance or overseas calls from their landline, phone box, or mobile .. not everybody in the World is online as much as we might like to think they are, great name just for promotion on TV or print media to help sell phone cards ...

On the flip side .. cheap phone calls on the net are a powerfull force, even though some still call them phone cards .. you can pay either via CCard or add the cost to your existing phone bill in some cases. You are then sent a local number to call and given a pin number to access the cheaper rate call through a different provider other than your local telco ...

Phonecards.co.uk is just a PPC landing page at the moment but probably destined to become an online seller or reseller of phone cards .. hard to make make much money from PPC or even as an affiliate reseller from phone cards. I know because i have been doing it for a number of Years ...
