Had a pm off scott - not me it was sold by different rob :)

No worries on phone atm, just catching up with thread. Great example of auction madness :)

Even if he did its not relevant once hammer has come down.

You play the game knowing the rules, and I would bet there is a 'its my bat and ball so I have final say' in the terms.

Not ideal and not great for scott or seller, but certainly not a dud.

The hammer down only works when an auction has run in line with the rules.

You can not have bidders names changing from buyer7 to buyer8 and then buyer9 and then withdraw bids, then delete bidders, then put bidders back and cross them out, and then again delete them.

Another domainer took screen shots on their iphone and it looks mad all the changes.

I think rob f could do what he liked.

I thought Rob was a member of denys domaincatch, so denys would have been on half anyway?

I could be wrong though, just what I was told.

Either way as long as rob is happy its a good result.

Must stop listening to pm's lol

I guess we better start saying positive stuff now, as sale is bound to be picked up by the media.

Not sure why as has been bigger sales with no media interest :) Heard about a 100,000 gbp sale of some .org.uks earlier - that might be in media ;)

So it turns out ocean finance did buy it :)

On a separate note; are you able to spill the beans yet Rob?

Correct. Bought via an intermediary though, presumably to protect their identity.

I'm happy with the outcome, nice to see it go to an end user and at least I won't see it get flipped for 30 – 50k a few weeks down the road. That's always very painful.

Considering who the buyer was, they got an absolute steal, imo. That name has got to be worth way more to them than the £10,250 they paid. I bet they are very happy with deal.

- Rob

Would be nice to know what the Auto Bid was set to or what the size of the pot they had aside for it.

But yes I think add a zero fella.

Still, despite it being ocean finance you both got a price your happy with. Sometimes its worth going direct, sometimes auction is better. Did you think to go direct first or straight to auction?

Strange they will spend £10k on a domain when their website is so ugly. Unless they are planning on a makeover :)

I see Sedo are claiming the sale of ocean.co.uk - did you use their escrow service?
