Nominet not issuing transfer forms

This new system is open to abuse and obvious fraud. A transfer form should only be downloadable by the person who owns the domain by keying in the code that you use to change address etc on Registrants online. What's the point of giving us a unique security code for each domain if it isn't used for something like this.

It won't be long before someone tries fraudulently to snatch a domain.

The old system was open to abuse, but it worked ok and without fraud being a problem. The new system is a big improvement, Nominet now tell you that a transfer has been requested and ask for proof of address for the current Registrant before they will proceed.

Maybe you're right and the system has got some checks. But I still believe the obvious check is to use the unique security code given by Nominet. The transfer form could then be printed off online with all the whois information inserted as it is at the moment. Kills two birds with one stone.

But that would cost money Nigel and Nominet dont seem to like spending it on anything that actually benefits.

Thanks for elaborating on what those tools might be. :p

Well, I thought the mere fact of possibility should be sufficient in convincing someone to utilize searching lore ;)

You don't even need editors. My pdf reader, which is Foxit PDF Reader Pro 1.3 has following feature:

- Typewriter tool: allows you to type on any place of PDF documents;

It works perfectly and you don't need to pay US$39 in order to avoid trial stamp on the final document -- it doesn't make it look bad at all. But will
remind Nominet to release open version, every time they see the notice.

Excellent! Thanks Vizzy.

It's a shame that I filled in a load by hand this morning.

cheers for that....

Try this.

Type in your details and press submit to get your details frozen into the Nominet form. Save on your hard drive and you're cooked.

Uses adobe reader. No 3rd party downloads needed.

You can change things at any time and resubmit so you can add the domain name. Or if you like leave out the domain name and then you need never revisit the site again - just print out the form with the address bits filled in and fill in the new domain each time by hand.

Don't forget to save the pdf to your hard drive (using adobe readers save button, not the browser save button (obviously!)) as this isn't a log-in thing and we won't save your details.

Ignore adobe reader complaints about not being able to save your data - as long as you've pressed the button at the end of the form that sends it back to our server, it sends you back the form with your details burnt into it.
fillable Nominet form

the submit button at the end of the form is designed not to print out onto the hardcopy.

Try it out with a few letters if you like, you can change it again (as long as you press submit button.)

yesterday.

The Nominet form has just changed to reflect the new transfer prices.

I think it is just page 5 that is affected.

We haven't yet updated the form details saver pdf Domain name portfolio management tools to reflect this.

Will let you know when we're done.

Best
