Hello

I am new to registering domains. I have just registered my first 4 domains...

ipad3store.co.uk
apple-ipad3.co.uk
propertyservicesagency.co.uk
propertyservicesagency.com

Anyone any idea what I should be aiming to sell these for? The last 2 trend very well globally and in the UK.

Get ready to be sued for your Apple / iPad domains, these are blatant trade mark infringements on one of the worlds largest companies.

Don't register anything else like this or you will be in even more trouble and don't even think about trying to sell them here.

Admin

Thank you for your advice as I said I am new to this. My theory was that an an official iPad reseller might be interested in the first two. I don't plan to market the website trading upon Apple's trademarks so I don't believe there is any legal issue.

I would be interested in any opinions you may have on the propertyservicesagency domain names.

Thanks

I would delete them ASAP and do alot of reading up on here before you buy anymore.

Admin has given you the heads up on the first two.

On the last two, I would send letters to companies you think might be interested. If you want my opinion, it is that you will find it extremely hard to sell them. That's because in this case there will be little economic benefit to a company in owning the names. It's not a sector where the product or service is primarily sold over the internet.

My advice is to take it nice and slow with new registrations. Buying is simple, selling is hard.

Good luck.

I worrk in the propdrty sector and think these could be valuable. Thank you for. The advice thought it is appreciate accelerator.

"property services agency" only has 210 local exact searches a month, so I'm not sure why you think it's a big trend in the UK?

And yes, other people are spot on in their comments about your blatant TM infringements. Get rid of them now, or suffer the consequences when Apple's in-house legal team come knocking...

Property services agency as about 5000 per month globally. Is is a useful hoit rate for the construction industry.

Regarding TMs I don't plan to market the website and the intention is that an official Aapple reseller in the UK might be interested as in effect I would have given them an idea. I don't see any legal issue, coming from a legal background in the construction sector for what that is worth. Again thanks for the advice though. I am completely new to this and have spare cash for investments so I am only dabbling at this stage. My initial investment is small so that is why I thought I would get advice from you guys before moving on.

I don't see the legal issue if the website isn't marketing any Apple Trademarks. An official reseller may be interested. Propert services agency has an average of thousands per month globally according to Google Adwords.

Intentions

I would like to make it clear that I have no content on these wesites, I don't intend to market us Apple's TMs and am looking to sell the name only to official resellers.

Thanks

No Apple Reseller (inc. APR's - Apple Premium Resellers) is allowed to use any of Apple's trademarks in any domain name.

We realise you're completely new and we are doing our best to help you out. You are welcome to do your own research, but I would just like to point out that so far you have had advice that the Apple domains are a no-no from the owner of this forum, and two people who have been here discussing domains since Apr 2005, as well as further experienced forum members. Between us we probably have over 12,000 forum posts, and have been buying and selling domains for six+ years. We are all saying that there is a legal problem with those Apple domains, so it is overwhelmingly likely that you are going to find out exactly the same answer if and when you look into it.

Rgds

Please dump the apple ones (cancel them from Nominet online account) ASAP and put it down to experience, they really are not worth your while, honestly, you could regret it, massively. :)

we could all leave "jonesy" alone - and watch/read.

The I Never intended to profit defence(defense) in action

Selling a name is just as much "profiting" from it as developing it, regardless of who's buying it. They may or may not be entitled to buy it (almost certainly not) but you're not entitled to sell it.

In all instances, you're exploiting Apple's intellectual property and likely to land yourself in trouble.

For those of you who don't know (I was hoping some of you would have been aware) but obviously not many from a construction background here...

propertyservicesagency.co.uk
propertyservicesagency.com

The Property Services Agency used to be a government agency that is now not in existence but consequently gets thousands of searches globally. These addresses would be ideal for anyone involved in the construction industry.

Open to offers.

Thanks for reading.

For info, the PSA used to be an official body in the UK - I thought the name rang a bell.

The Property Services Agency (PSA) was an agency of the United Kingdom government, in existence from 1972 to 1993. Its role was to “provide, manage, maintain, and furnish the property used by the government, including defence establishments, offices, courts, research laboratories, training centres and land”.
