Hi All

Time has come to bin the current PC in favour of a new all singing all dancing (read fast) PC on Windows 7.

Was thinking of a Quad Core 2.8GHZ with 16GB Ram - which shoudl run 5 or 6 MS progrms nicely ;)

Currently have 2.6GHZ on 8GB RAM PC with two graphics cards, running 3x20" NEC LCD monitors - but I want to switch to two widescreens instead.

Anyone got any advice on best widescreen LCD's to go for 22" or greater? I don't do any real image manipulation or gaming, so just need good solid colours and blacks!

Secondly - anyone got preference of AD over Intel? Pro's / cons? As said no gaming or image work really done.

Cheers all
TW

Im running a Dell XPS Quad Core 2.5 with 8gb of RAM.

No problems at all. So yours should fly! :)

I'm pretty happy with the Samsung SyncMaster F2380, which is a 23" widescreen monitor...

I would have gone for Eizo monitors (they really are THE best) but it was too hard to justify the 300% price premium... If money isn't really an issue, then go for a mid-range to top end Eizo.

I've got my (older) PC hooked up to a 42" Toshiba LCD TV with res set for pixel matching at full 1920 x 1080 HD (HDMI) and an older Dell 19" monitor at 1280x1024 (VGA) and I've not had an issue with performance from a new-ish 1Gb ASUS card.

Cool - have you got Dell screen(s) too? Any good?

Cheers

Just got a 19inch Phillips as I find it easier to work on a small screen.

Like Ty I also have the graphics card out to a windescreen HD TV.

I know people who work with 8 22" screens and I have tried it, however I am more than happy with my 1 (Same as edwins) and using expose and spaces on my mac to organise myself.

Anyone know of a windows equivalent of spaces? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7MHup6kXbU

Blimey, I need to upgrade to your cast offs!

LOL - I 've had the screens 4 years.... all three been sent back within the first 12 months as backlights went... but been stable for 2 1/2 years now... so am riding my luck i thinks...

Samsung SyncMaster F2380 must be pretty popular as everywhere has no stock...

Not quite sure where I got mine from, ebuyer or dabs I think...

Heres a cheeky dabs.com affiliate link if you were inclined to buy something from them!

Dabs.com

I seem to always go with samsung for various reasons, they a price well, a reputable brand and good quality. Can't say fairer than that really!
