Can I ask how I can evaluate it??? I've looked for your tag over the last few days and can't see any catches.
I might be interested if I can see it's quality.

Also need a server next door to nominets if anyone knows of one
Do nominet have a wifi hotspot? I could sit in my car outside and catch from there. I reckon thats's what the big players do!

Due to other pressing business commitments, I haven't been trying to research and catch since the date of my last success as recorded on my tag at deleting.co.uk -- why not PM me a half-dozen and I'll try for them for you if you're really interested.

It has been pointed out that I haven't caught much lately. This is true, because I just don't think it's worth the effort.
I have worked out why a few TAGs seem to get all the best drops. It's because they have done a lot of analysis and compensation for the delays in the system. Timing is everything. Simple scripts will lose every time.
Being next door to Nominet's servers isn't that important.

However, it would be weeks of work to get competitive again and as Mr Ant said "What's the point of robbery if nothing is worth taking?"

Very true Colin. It depends what your expectations are really. If you're happy to try for a handful of reasonable domains daily and can sell three or four per month at ~£500 then you're not doing bad in my book. I've stopped it now as I have customers I don't wish to compete with, plus I don't have the time to do all the research etc. although I have the means to do so.

yes but I wonder how often nominet change there system drop patterns ?
Must call them one day and ask....

Show us the names that make your system worth a grand and you will have my money.

Your not going to sell a script for a grand if you can't demonstrate if it's any good. You have even less chance now deleting has gone as only nominet members will be able to see what you have caught, and if they're members theres a good chance they're already catching.
Otherwise your selling a droplist for £999 and script for a quid.

Your 'code snippet' is trite -- why don't you write your own software like I did? Do you speak SMTP or TCP as well as COBBLERS?

Actually my drop catching software is written in Basic. (PBCC)
And I'm happy to list what I've caught.

Yep, I recognised it as BASIC, I started my computing life on a vic20 somewhere around the age of 5 or 6 and taught myself BASIC on a C64!

My point was that line 30 in your code would never be required as line 20 takes you back to line 10.

You must be a Microsoft coder with bloated code like that :-D

lol. I was more into woodwork than IT. Worked for BT as an engineer when I left school 10 years later ended up in IT!
