Looks good. The 'more details' button on the listings just links back to the homepage and there is no 'book now' or similar button on the actual hotel page listings. I think you need another call to action other than just one for reviews.

Fancy doing one of my hotel domains for me? :)

Great work.

You should definitely sell the theme / develop domains for others :)

+1 :)

If you do want to try selling the theme or offer a service to develop sites for people, then maybe we could come to an arrangement to get clients via my travel affiliate blog ?

I'm not a fan of cufon font replacement, but apart from that it looks really great.

nice site - very well implemented.

now go register as many hotelsin?????.co.uk as you can find :)
(im sure you have)

Just wondering, which do you prefer (if any?) Typekit, Typeface.js, Sifr?

ONTOPIC: Some of the spacing doesn't look right (Text is too low on the nav menu + on the headers of the boxes on the left)

If I ever use anything "fancy" it's from the Google Web Fonts.

Wow last time I checked they only had about 7 on there. Also that was when every designer and there mum was using lobster to spruce up their designs.

Nice to see there are some more on it - Might use it again soon.

Thanks for all the comments / feedback

Yes its something I will look at when its finished - It needs lots more work, speeding up, compressing + minifying.
It could do with utilising XML + cron instead of CSV feed, Right now with csv feed its not really an out-of-the-box solution, as it means having to strip the 50mb+ laterooms csv into regions and upload it every 3 months. Not ideal but its a start... Watch this space

I find typekit + css3 renders rough on sceen, i hate the cufon delay and think SIFr is a pain to set up.
A while ago i did a site using American Typewriter and had to use all 3! (Dont ask) but cufon will do for now if if an get the file size down a bit.

The menu line height is something im aware of but too tired to fix right now:confused:

Enough playing now Carlo and get on with my website :)

Nice site Carlo it would look good on ShropshireHotels.co.uk

Fancy a link with Hotels In Solihull ?

We are developing a network of hotelsin domains so would be interested in cross promotion with your site and anyone with travel/hotel sites.

hotelsinbirmingham.co.uk
hotelsinyork.co.uk
hotelsinnewcastle.co.uk
hotelsincardiff.co.uk
etc

Also if anyone has any hotelsin.co.uk's please drop me a pm ;)

Cheers,

Ben.

Hi. Some comments :

This looks great, clean and natural.

- maybe zoom in one or perhaps two levels on the initial Google map

- maybe purple rather than mid-blue for the title and text in the top band

- maybe middle-align (rather than bottom align) the main purple horizontal navigation bar

- the left sidebar titles seem overlarge compared to the main top horizontal navigation bar : I realise the main bar has lots of long words, but it may be worth reducing the font size on the left (and for the righthand advert header)

- the righthand advert skyscraper could do with allowing some blank space around the advert : with TheLadders, for example, the advert has a thick black border which pushes against the purple header.

- there is no favicon

- I am not sure what the category guest accommodation means compared to the others

- the lefthand Sheffield box seems an uneasy mixture of accommodation categories (which could go above), info about Sheffield (which seems quite light) and about/contact info about the website (which could move down to a formatted purple footer alongside the copyright statement and a link to a privacy policy)

Hope that helps

David
