Wanted: Website Review My First Wordpress Site

For those who have been giving me advice on how to use wordpress I will apologise in advance

For those who advised me to ditch this domain again I will apologise and say I really needed the practice

This domain will be all over the news in 2013-2014, it will be a political hot potato that will have people out on the streets campaigning, I bought it to have a moan and because I have no idea what I am doing. That said I tried my best to monetise an impossible subject and hope that a wealthy welfare benefits solicitor comes along and buys it off me

I will keep updating it and when I last checked it was on page 2 in Google search:

Well done for setting up your first WP install. And the themes ok. But it just looks like a standard template with some content. You need a logo for starters and some pictures to add some colour. I also don't think cosyfeet is the best company to be displaying.

I would drop the 'Welcome to my new website' bit, and I'd be tempted to remove all the first person stuff as well. Your template has that 'professional' style to it yet your entries are quite personal with the use of 'I', so I'd change one of those things and decide where you're going with the tone and information.

Bud - loads of awesome themes out there for free - Not sure you have picked the right one . For example I built this in under 2 hours, with content an logo: http://sharksforsale.net/ Using woothemes. Sometimes its better to take one upmarket and customise it slightly...

That banner is a bit naff IMHO... a logo would spruce it up. But great start on the first site
