According to Wikipedia, the .mk extension for Macedonia is restricted to companies within Macedonia, so this could be an issue?

The rules by MARnet changed 2014 and also we have a partner in Macedonia who solves the local tech-contact. So no problems with this. I use some .MK for my private and important tech projects too.

There is also a large town in England called Milton Keynes. .mk could be taken to represent Milton Keynes (a bit like .to for Tonga is used to represent Toronto). Milton Keynes is quite a "tech and software" town, so maybe try finding a company with initials MM there and pitch it to them.

Well, I made this comment because their business is not targeted at mass consumer markets, so they probably don't spend a lot on advertising, and the use of a short brandable domain won't be a particular concern.

Thank You for the nice hints, but I do not contact companies. Btw. would this not be a kind of cybersquatting act prohibited by law? As far I know in the USA its prohibitted. Do not know about UK or the rest of Europe.

I can imagne both my .MK for sale domains - UK.mk and MM.mk - are quite attractive. The reason I bought mm.mk was this 3-times m (would love mm.mm

) and UK - well, I suppose You do not need to think much why

No, it's not against the law to contact companies and offer them domains for sale. That said, some people can get a bit cross and angry about it when you try and offer them a domain, but providing you aren't infringing their intellectual property you are fine.

You could write a letter to companies to let them know about your domain. The thing is, in the case of these .mk, because the extension is rare, I think this may be necessary to have any chance of a sale.
