Hi There,

Our company 'Styles Creative' have recently launched a new ecommerce business selling beer fridges, mini fridges, wine fridges and custom mini fridges: www.minifridge.co.uk

The site was previously a mini site earning good income through adsense and affiliates.

In future we would like to add additional products, design more custom mini fridges and heavily market the website.

I would like to hear your thoughts on the design, products and any suggestions on improvements.

Cheers

Will

Hi Will, the website to me looks very professional and I would happily place an order there.

Nice theme with nice colours!

Product pictures are of excellent quality too.

Congrats!

Its good to here that it used to do well with adsense and affiliates, so its a good step to do it yourself!

Just wondering, if you don't mind sharing??

1) Do you stock the products or drop ship?
2) Is the phone number specific to that website, do you outsource answering that?

Cheers Mally

Looks a nice and clean site, seems to load up fast and correct, would the search box not be better at top not the bottom ?

It's a great site - the only thing I'd introduce is ref: Keith's post(?) - a search function

Target = those impulse buy customers looking for something specific straight away e.g. black mini fridge

Very professional. Well done! If I didn't have one already, I'd certainly buy one there.

Very nice site again, great to see a company with design skills getting down and dirty with their own ecommerce.

A couple of points on the sales process.

When you select a fridge then click "Buy Now" you see the shopping basket, then are redirected back to the shopping page. I would compare the number of customers that make single purchases rather then multiple. If most are making single, why force them through another click to go back to the shopping basket in order to purchase it (and having to look top right to find the small basket/checkout call to action)?

When you do select to check out, the customer is forced to select a shipping country, with 3 options on a drop down list, only one of which works and is the only option available, the UK? Why ask? Or if it is a customised off the shelf package at least default to the UK.

Again, there is an unneccessary page load in "How did you find.." and "What was your reason..". If you are willing to lower your conversion rate by asking these, at very least combine them on another page, there are too many clicks on the sales process.

It takes a bit more work to integrate the direct approach with Sagepay (IIRC), but again with help the conversion rate. There are quite a few clicks in total to purchase.

All IMHO of course. Cheers :)

Hi Will,
Great site but i've noticed some errors in the text.

You've spelt manufacturers wrongly on a few pages (manufactures).
On the beer fridge page you've written "quieting sipping" rather than
quietly sipping.
On the same page you've written "AT never further than arms length away"
rather than "ARE never........"
On the home page you've written "with a variety of different purposes" which
sounds wrong to me-maybe should be "for a variety of different purposes"
or "with a variety of different uses".
Also, when you click Home you arrive at minifridge.co.uk but when you click
minifridge on the top menu you arrive at minifridge.co.uk/index/html.
Just wanted to check you haven't duplicated the home page.
They're probably one and the same thing but you never know!

Cheers,
Mark.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for your replies and feedback on the website.

Mally
1). We drop ship some of the products and stock the most popular ones.
2). The phone number is our companies main office number (0845) redirects. We don't outsource the calls.

It is a newsletter sign up at the bottom of the page not a search function. But I do agree we need to put a search box at the top asap.

Thank you for your feedback, we will take your points on board. We are currently working with 'Actnic' to develop our ecommerce websites. There are some limitations with this of the shelf software but we will try and streamline the check process as best as we can.

We always use Sagepay as our PSP and redirect customers to their secure payment page (because of the DCI compliance). We are in the process of customising the payment page to tie in with the website.

A few good examples of our Actinic ecommerce websites can be found in my signature.

Thank you for spotting these mistakes! we will get them sorted asap.

Very nice site, I stumbled upon it a few months ago when it was an affiliate site? i think.
just goes to show what can be done with actinic  and a good designer!

Really nice site. I may have added to your abandoned shopping cart stats though as I didn't read the OP properly and thought it was an affiliate site.

Love the design, very professional looking. If I needed or wanted a mini fridge then I'd happily buy from this site.

Looks really good, its interesting as I have an affiliate site in a very similar area and i'm planning on possible doing the same as you...build it up as an affiliate site then turn it into an ecommerce site.

How are profits looking in comparison to when it was an affiliate site?

Thats me then, a prospective client looking for a design house not being able to submit an email enquiry . Lame. Why dont you put a captcha on the form and not piss prospective clients off!!!

PM me if you want to chat.
