I once lost 2 stone in 2 months. I think at time I was doing 5 spin classes per week (HIIT training brilliant post workout burn) full body weights x3 per week ( needed to avoid muscle loss if calorie restricted plus added muscle will burn more calories at rest). Diet: ditch all white carbs/ sugar. Watch for hidden carbs in your favourite foods. With carbs it's all about the insulin ( fat storage hormone) release, so the slower the release the better ie the gi rating. Low gi carbs in morning and pre workout only... Rest of time lots of protein, shakes at bf, preworkout, post workout, bedtime slow release casein protein. Don't neglect your good fats eg almonds/ avacados/ extra virgin olive oil. Eating fat doesnt make you fat!! Just watch calories with fat as is 9kcal/g whereas protein/carbs are 4. Eats lots of steak, eggs, chicken. Big salads for evenin meals with your steak/chicken. Use caffeine/ tyrosine preworkout. Creatine, DAA, beta alanine good weights stacks. Try either calorie cycling or carb cycling ( latter more for bodybuilding). Basic fundamentals are you need to be a deficit to lose body fat ( calories in vs calories out) Fluctuating calories is great for fat loss. One day eg 2500, then 2 days low at 1500 and repeat etc... I could go on for hours... Not an expert, but i'm a dedicated bodybuilder and train 8-9 times a week!! :) been as low as 4.25% bf measured with callipers :)

As many of you have said, I need to enjoy whatever exercise I do otherwise I won't keep it up, so I'm getting a heavy bag to knock the crap out of, and I'll get my rowing machine back.

Not for cash, but there'll be a forfeit to be decided - my suggestion is the loser has to do a full dance in their undies and the video put on Youtube. I'll find out his suggestion tomorrow.
 
I did the cave man diet for a while it did work. Nothing but lean meats and nuts for about a week or two, obviously not meant long term but it is good in moderation. Drink plenty of water, cut out fruit juice completely. Daily exersise routine. No food after 6pm. Made me feel a million dollars, full of energy. Unfortunately back to bad habbits once again, new year, I must find motivation to lose weight myself.
 
Ok, fatty's back from the weigh-in...111kg - 17.47 stone!

My brother was 112kg but he's 6'2" against my 5'10".
 
There was a programme called Fat Fighters about personal trainers on C4 last night, did anyone see it?
 
My tip is

a) read the labels of food for calories when you go to the supermarket, then
b) compare this to how many minutes running you would have to do to work it off

eg Packet of 6 Mr Kipling cakes plus run for two hours? Or neither.....

...and then put them back on the shelf.
 
How's the weightloss going for those trying? I've lost anywhere between 4 and 7 lbs, my weight fluctuates alot depending on the time of the day (yes I know I should get weighed at the same time, but that makes the assumption your routine is the same everyday), but it's definitely dropping.

Another 20lbs to go :(

I've lost 1.2kg (2.6lbs) - not much but it's a start.

I thought it would've been more but I suppose I'll be happy if I do that every week.

Don't forget it's a marathon not a sprint, if you take it off too quickly you'll probably put it back on again because your conscious mind goes back to it's old habits. You need to change your lifestyle so your subconscious takes over.Think like your 12 stone do the things 12 stone people do, walk the way they walk, eat the way they eat, move the way they move, think and act as if your a gazelle not a gorilla.

People who want to give up smoking should refuse to smoke because they don't smoke and not because they are trying to give up smoking.
People who are trying to give up drink should refuse to drink because they don't drink, not because they are trying to give up drink. The same applies to gambling.

That's exactly how I stopped smoking; I used to picture myself turning down an offered cigarette saying 'no thanks, I don't smoke'.
