Looking for recommendations for a PR agency/company?

No personal experience of them myself but I've heard good things about jwcpr.com.

Thanks for the replies will check em all out! :)

Could you let us know your experience with them if you go with one?

A previous business I was involved with in the fashion industry, we paid £2400 a month and they got us into major magazines and newspapers but it didn't bring in any real noticeable traffic or sales.

The only magazine that did bring sales was HEAT but the piece had Rochelle from the saturdays wearing the dress which I think helped a lot.

If was nice to put on the site "as seen in.." and then all these major mags but after 4 months we just couldn't afford to continue with it since it didn't bring us any money back.

On the other hand we gave a free dress to a blogger to review, ended up selling over 40 dresses just from her, price of the dress was £50..

So £50 to the right blogger had a much bigger impact in terms of immediate sales than £9600 to a PR agency.

I think that is very sound advice. 10yetis and similar are likely to be very expensive. I deal with a lot of pr companies on our blogs - what's the niche as I might be able to put you in touch with some of them especially the smaller ones which might offer better value.

Following on from what Murray said, PR agencies hold blogger events for their clients for that very reason.

Harsh, but more importantly, probably quite accurate but boy will you get your money's worth. :)

We've spoken with Andy and his team a couple of times in the past, without ever quite getting over the line on a deal. They are a nice and talented seeming bunch, but you're definitely looking at £xxxx per month.

Whoever was behind the OK Cupid campaign to block Firefox users today is a PR genius. Some great authority links coming in :)
