Its sort of being recaptured a little with Crypto.... everybody hoping the coin they are invested in is one of the chosen few. Wish I could ride that wave but I've not really bought into it all or been interested in it enough to learn the ins and outs.... think I read that Bitcoin alone has made up to 25000 millionaires.

Fair play to those who got in early and believed enough to still be there when the price was $5000 or whatever. I bought a couple at $900 each and bottled it when they hit $400, so I lost $1000.... clearly I just don't have the aptitude for high risk, will stick with my conventional investment vehicles!

Did catch a glimpse of your linkedin profile the other day because I found you interesting on here, can see you've got a lot of stories in you!

Reading about your network of geo sites reminded me a little bit of the findaproperty network, where they had a local estate agent directory for pretty much every town.... they sold it for a huge sum to Trinity Mirror. I only know this because I picked up quite a few of those domains after Trinity dropped them and then hassled estate agents trying to sell them on. Estate agents are very difficult people to sell anything to.... gave up in the end

Actually I don't think it was findaproperty... it was something else. Dammit, now I need to dig out my old domaining spreadsheets and use the waybackmachine to remind myself what it was

It was email4property, they had over 2000 property related websites on EMDs..... like 'Oxfordestateagents' and 'Norwichestateagents' etc, when having hundreds of small sites was seen as sensible. I picked up about 40 of their domains when Trinity Mirror dropped them all a few years back.... couldn't give them away.

Thanks for digging up that old reference. Yes, I can imagine that it must be hard to get estate agents excited about domains. They certainly show little evidence of making wise choices along those lines from what I've seen.

A customer of mine rolled out a similar approach for a while. Ultimately it's a bad plan. Personal branding is everything in estate agency.
