Krystal Down - Nameservers Changed

Status

Woke up this morning to find Krystal have changed them all again and sites down.

Now pointing to ns5.krystal.co.uk & ns6.krystal.co.uk.

Not a happy bunny!!

Hello,

We've fixed the nameserver issue at Nominet.

If you aren't on our TAG then please could set your nameservers back to ns1.krystal.co.uk and ns2.krystal.co.uk at your earliest convenience.

(The ONLY way that we could rescue our original ns1 and ns2 nameservers was to move the current ones on to new nameservers - we picked ns5 and ns6 as they weren't in use)

ns5 and ns6 have the same glue records so your domains will work absolutely fine but it'd naturally be better to have your nameservers set back to our standard ones.

There'll be an email later with a longer explanation but for now, thanks for your patience and understanding, and apologies for inconvenience caused.

I don't think this is the case.

I manually changed my nameservers to ns1 and ns2 the other day and the sites worked, when you changed them to ns5 and ns6 they stopped working again.

I edited mine again first thing this morning but my site is still down but I guess this just takes time for them to change over.

I have the same problem - after the fiasco before I resubmitted the ns1 and ns2 servers - but why o why are you doing this to us ? My site is down right now. A ping says "can't find" although the nameservers in my domain account still said ns1 and ns2 (I've now resubmitted these once again) - please if it's fixed again leave well alone (or at least email us to say you are messing around)

Just checked:

TLD Parent Check
Different subnets
Different Autonomous Systems
SOA Expire

All flagged up in yellow with an exclamation mark

DownForEveryone is reporting the site as being up though - maybe it's just my browser.

Believe me, this wasn't done out of choice, but out of necessity. If it's the site in your signature, then it's loading up perfectly for me, and the DNS records all seem correct.

boxfish, all those yellows are fine - it's reds you need to worry about! If you have really bad (slow) dns servers, then it might be worth changing over from your ISPS dns to open dns : http://www.opendns.com/

it's not the site in my sig

we are all trying to make a living you know and having changes made twice in one week with zero communication and having to find out what's happening on a 3rd party forum is very poor - time to move all my hosting to a provider who doesn't press buttons on a whim and actually lets us know what is going on

We fully understand that, if you can call us on 03333 44 1337 and ask to speak with Simon, he will talk you through what happened. Alternatively if you PM me your domain name, or e-mail address I can ask him to call you at your convenience. You can also keep up with service affecting events here: http://krystalstatus.co.uk/

My sites are fine ( at the moment ) but lost a LOT of confidence with Krystal this week

well krystalstatus.co.uk has no information on what is happening today........

As far as I'm aware this isn't (or isn't supposed to be) a service affecting event. That's why it would be good if you could get in contact so we can take a look at your sites and see what the problem is so we can flag it up and check for any problems.

I changed all my sites to ns1 and ns2 yesterday and my sites definitely went down this morning when they got changed to ns5 and ns6. No big deal as I simply changed them back again, but the sites certainly went down.
