Just to summarise the thread of accusation -
There's this lady called Babs, who does a bit of charitable work on the side, who originally registered jellybeans co uk using a trading name which she has not used for years, and did not update her information.
The original host and registrant has been liquidated, and the hosting has passed to a US company. They gave Babs verbal assurances that she would retain the name. Then, instead of renewing it, they tried to catch it, and failed. After that, they gave Babs some BS to deflect attention from themselves, and she went off like putting a match to a rocket.
A lot of bad advice was thrown into the thread, as well as good advice. Rob Taylor and Michael Toth have posted a lot of sense, among others.
The general concensus of the advice is that Babs has no legal claim, and the blame for her plight lies with her registrar.
There is an old Welshman who wants to argue about this, but from the way he writes I think he could start an argument in an empty house!
In Babs' favour - She has had the thread retitled, after realising the original title was inappropriate.
Against her , and other posters - The thread still contains a lot of references to a cybersquatter, and the Nominet WHOIS data. Babs is reported to have tried playing a number of "sympathy cards" in discussion, after venting her spleen.
As a bicycle-riding old f*rt with a record of charitable activities over the last 45 years, I think I am in a position to comment on this.
I wouldn't give the name back. Looking at the Wayback Machine version of the site, anyone who thought that site was going to make money for charity was into self-deceit - looks like parking with pics, and only thrown up there out of kindness to Babs by the poor sod whose company went to the wall. The whole thing is reminiscent of the servant in the parable who buried his talent of silver in the ground, instead of using it to make more dosh like the other servants did.
There are alternative names available to register - I have checked. PM me if you can't think of one.
I would suggest that it might be polite to offer Babs a free registration on another, similar domain. The really difficult thing is that such an offer should be headed "Without Prejudice" ...
