Wanted: Domain Appraisal Italian Pasta.co.uk

Oh, as you were then

I thought OH! that's a nice little reg and it was worth the money just to have a thread people were interested in :)

Seriously it was the Sedo price suggestion tool that valued it, I took it with a pinch of salt (no pun intended) but thought I would share it.

Aiden

So anyone fancy having a guess at what it's worth to an end user?

Reg fee or more, I think low £xxx

As well as recipes for pasta dishes, you could show people how to make their own pasta, the Italian way. There are little machines for making the various shapes, and attachments for food processors, which would be suitable for affiliate links.

Thanks Bruce

Yes I agree there is quite a few things this could develop into, I was surprised at the price of some pasta machines. Probably would make a decent affiliate project as I know Amazon have a great range of associated products and there are many pasta suppliers.

Aiden

By all accounts Bruce could be offering you low xxx seeing as it has so much potential.

We spend a few months a year in Italy and eat pasta several times a week most weeks, even though I make pasta and buy it also, I've never heard of anyone calling it Italian pasta?

So I was not out to upset you valuing it at reg fee, just my opinion. After all it is an appraisal section and I am a bit of an expert on pasta. Italians too!

Hi Caz

Appreciate your opinion, I know you were not trying to upset.

Cheers

Your obviously switched on so would hate to see you developing this when you could be using your skills elsewhere.

I also, was given a recipe site a few years back. Loaded it with recipes and yes it got thousands of uniques a month but the earning even from decent clicks was very poor.

pasta.co.uk - worth a lot
freshpasta.co.uk - worth something
pastamaker.co.uk - worth something
pastamakers.co.uk - worth something

italianpasta.co.uk - Sorry, probably not worth much at all, because all pasta is Italian, it's unlikely to become a brand, has very low exacts, no AdWords appearing at all. However, fine for a site.

Don't trust the Sedo tool.

Take any offer you get for it.

Rgds

Thanks accelerator

I take your point; that said I would hope it can achieve it's reg fee back as an affiliate site over a 2 year period. Italian pasta and Italian pastas get about 10k exacts per month so should be a little bit of mileage in it. It is all part of the learning curve for me and the broad spectrum of opinions are invaluable so thank you again.

Regards

Aiden

This information is the kind I was trying to solicit, great advice.

GKT currently shows 1,000 exact for "italian pasta". So there is a flicker of life, but much less than your stated figure unfortunately.

Reg fee back over 2 years? Jesus

If you bought it to sell why not approach some end users and see what they say.

If you bought it to develop then there are much more lucrative domains/niches available and you should probably look at them.

Spending time and money developing a site that you have no interest in, and has no outstanding qualities, such as high exacts, incredibly little competition, a high commission product etc, with the aim of making back £6 over 2 years. Talk about a pointless exercise.

I'm not having a go, a lot of people seem to seem to have the same idea but all that work to make back £6 over 2 years - I just don't get it.

An Italian pasta company have a very nice site on the .com It may be worth approaching them and offering them the domain.

I am sure one of our very helpful members would be willing to do the translation for you. :D

Bruce

personally think its a cracking domain name, does what is says on the tin for sure and leads the site to cover all things pasta wise, reciepes, products, sauces etc etc

Even go wider than that and go for all food things Italian, pizza, wines, etc all would compliment the pasta side of it

No need to only restrict yourself on the value of the domain, the value of this one is in the development.

Sorry Edwin you are correct, I really need to stop looking at broad matches

Oh I agree, it was more tongue in cheek rather than a plan; honest ;)

I like Aiden - he's sharp and appreciative. Italypasta.co.uk is FTR also.

Thanks

It is quite surprising how much attention this name has got on here, well the thread anyway. If I can learn to buy names that create so much interest I think I will be a millionaire (more tongue in cheek).

The point I suppose for me is that this discussion has been beneficial on so many levels; not least a lesson in searching out names and then recognising their flip/development value.

I appreciate everyone's input positive or negative because that's how I learn to get better.

Thanks Again

Aiden

I agree, I think it has at least a little potential.
