Hi Guys

I've just done an update of LowPrices.co.uk, and the home page is now quite plain, a bit like Google :) In some ways this is good, as it focuses the user's attention on the search box, and hopefully they will use it.

So, do you think the home page is too plain? If so, what do you think I should add?

Many thanks

Far too plain and needs customisation. Still looks just like the Default ShopWindow homepage. I'm sure when I last saw the terms for it they wanted you to have it looking different to the default style within a certain period, although that could be wrong.

If I found that it would make me bounce back straight away without searching as it looks like an empty website or default parking page. Have a look at the ShopWindow Homepage and you'll see it's different, simple (could be made simpler) yet visually more appealing and colourful.

Also, look at Craig's DealFinder.co.uk homepage which I have noticed in his signature before (StudioVision).

I don't think it does a bad job of looking simple and "Google-esque".

Thank you for your comments.

What I am thinking of doing is adding a graphic to the home page, which features various products and says something along the lines of "Whatever you need to buy ... use LowPrices.co.uk to compare prices at top online stores".

Thoughts people?

I'd click the back button, thinking the site wasn't loading properly.

I think a domain like that deserves some 'design attention'.

Give Mr 'CurrentAccounts.co.uk' a shout - sorry forgotten your name!

Else NorwichDesigner.com who I've mentioned before.

Thanks for the feedback. I've now added a "Whatever you want to buy ..." graphic to the home page. Would this help avoid the dreaded back button??

I agree it's a good domain that deserves attention, but I must try to build traffic (cheaply) to the site first before I can afford further investment.

Prime example why you should always use .co.uk if operating in the UK ;).

In regards to lowprices.co.uk. I think the logo could do with being bigger.

Best judge would be your SW epc. I make 0.10 epc. Anything more then that would suggest it works well as is.

Where does SW epc get reported? I had a quick look in the Awin interface but couldn't see it.

So guys, does my new "Whatever you need to buy ..." graphic prevent you going for the back button? What's the consensus?

Thanks
