The following is of public record based on information held at Companies House:

The Director and Company Secretary of ******** is also a director of a company setup in June last year called **********.

One of the other directors of ********** is listed as a Mr. **********.

Two of the top catchers directors of the same company !

Hi Informer,

Welcome to the forum :) interesting first post but I am not sure where you are going with this

Thank you for the interesting fact informer. It was regged for an .EU project which never really took off and yes it was cleared with Nominet's legal department beforehand.

The limited company is currently dormant and likely to stay that way.

Another interesting fact is that 'informer' has no bollocks :)

I am guessing you posted this anon as you do not want your real name linked - not sure why though, is it lack of bollocks or does your own interests not hold up to scrutiny or are you scared of **********?

Come on, grow a backbone!

Very true, its good to see the Brits doing well in an industry that could be so easily dominated by the Americans.

I'm as big a "flag-waver" as anyone and wholeheartedly agree that domain catching for .co.uk domains is best if the uk drop catchers pick them up. However ! - there has also got to be transparency and anything which on the surface may even seem slightly odd then the fickle finger of suspicion will be pointed. And maybe slightly off topic ......... until Nominet can prove to everyone that their system is totally random then whispers will continue about shadowy partnerships.

How does Nominets problem link to third partys?

How is something 'shadowy' if it is on public record?

I am sure the two named above could have hidden things if they had wished, but the fact it is on public record and they have cleared things with Nominet (pre empting such 'whispers') would indicate they wish to operate above suspicion.

Apologies for using my real name as posting, I feel like the odd one out not being a new user with 1 post :) Perhaps admin can reset my username to Rum0rM0ng3r and post count to zero :)

Does anyone remember other discovered facts about those tags being related in business?

Does this mean Nominet "approves" such things on a personal case-by-case basis?

Mo, as you reading this, why don't you share your experience, how anyone else can get such "approval" to be distinct catchers and be directors of the same company at the same time??! From how I understand Nominet's anti-abuse policy and their definition of "trust between parties" -- it's a clear contradiction.

I am sure many people on this forum are aware that TN and I have been members of Nominet for many number of years before this company was formed or we knew each other. Since I was not the person who discussed the matter with the legal department, I cannot tell you what conditions we had to abide by if the project was to go ahead.

As I stated earlier, the project did not go ahead and the company is dormant. I personally do not see what the song and dance is about. There were no shadowy plans but I guess I am wasting my breath by trying to explain. The whole point of this and many other posts on this forum is to sling mud. In regards to your other 'facts' - I am sure it is not a crime hosting a domain on someone else's server. I currently use webservers belonging to 2 different catchers, but as far catching goes, we are competitors like anyone else.

I have a met a number of catchers in the past and been out for lunch etc but thats just being friendly, nothing more. I've said my bit, if you or anyone else don't believe me then thats your choice. I can't speak for anyone else, but Nominet are more than welcome to have admin level access to my server anytime they wish.

Anyway, back to day job.

No, absolutely not.
It's nice to talk straight.

Certainly no crime in sharing hosting with other catchers or catch from the same subnet. I guess it's not even restricted to run a catchers ring, where successfull players support each other by avoiding unneeded competition for the same names...

If Nominet approves business relations between high-profile catchers, being
not afraid this could lead to potential abuse -- great. Would give them flag for that.

Considering all the above, I can't understand your tower being so sensitive to all those different people poping-up from time to time with the facts "uncovering" your relations.

Certainly it's not possible to explain each and every time and you might have got tired doing this. You should have written "FAQ" covering this topic already... =)

Oh, well... I'm also not a stranger for a friendly lunches and a bit of chit-chat.
It would be nice to meet you and Andy eventually (By all means not forgeting Chris! should be a good company to discuss achievements of catching..)

Don't forget to call H2ONAMES to your lunch. He has a same-subnet hosting with TNAMES, too
